I have seen every Silsbee game this year but one, trust me, this was not one of Silsbee's better games but it was far from their worst. Central's pressure created some havoc for the Tigers but there were several unforced errors by Silsbee last night, mostly by trying to force the issue instead of being more patient with the ball. Also, Silsbee killed Central on the boards but didn't execute well enough on the putbacks on the offensive glass, missed too many. Silsbee also struggled from the freethrow line, going 8-20 while Central was pretty solid, 16-21. Silsbee had improved at the line in the Big Sandy tourney, shooting over 75% for the tournament, but struggled again last night like they did a week ago against Ozen. Tigers got a well deserved victory, a game that Silsbee needed, one of those scratch and claw one's.

I think PAM is the best team in the area, but I would love to see my Tigers play them in the finals of the YMBL this Saturday night. It could happen, but Silsbee would have to play much better these next couple of days to get that match. The Tigers first have to beat Aldine Eisenhower, then next would most likely be West Brook, and if they managed to win that game they would most likely play Dallas Kimball in the semifinals, a team that has beaten Memorial already this year, 63-61. Tall task for these Tigers, but I am convinced it's not impossible. I believe Silsbee has a good chance to make it to the finals.

I agree. Other than the YMBL, there's no better tourney than the HJ tourney. In fact, if you would break it down into a large school, small school sense, the HJ tourney is the best small school tournament this area has to offer, not just this weekend, but any weekend. Only tournament that comes close to it is the East Chambers tourney. I really wish that the YMBL and HJ tourneys weren't the same week. :(

Silsbee Lady Tigers defeated Huntington 45-39 for the Lady Tiger's 4th straight win. Huntington had defeated Silsbee in the first game of the season by 9 points but the Lady Tigers make amends for that loss. Congrats to the Lady Tigers and Coach Saunders! Keep up the good work

Avory Thomas was the man inside!! 10 points, 10 rebounds, 10 block shots!!! D.C. Stallworth also had 10 points with 17 rebounds!! Pheal Hill led Silsbee with 24 points!

Finally the JV game has gone final! Central JV  63 Silsbee JV  60 Broadcast will start at 8pm!

Still 5 minutes left in JV game. Looks like an 8pm start for the varsity.

I agree, the dunks are real nice, but trying to get them every trip down the floor will cost them. Last night against Jasper Kountze tried the alley-oop 4 straight trips up the floor when the Lion lead was still in single figures. That kind of foolish play will backfire eventually. There were about 5 other times that either Walker or Brey tried to dunk and failed. Just get the two points, that's all that matters.

5 state ranked teams in this field, 1 5A, 3 4A, 1 3A. This should be an exciting tourney on the Lamar Campus!! 14 games broadcasted here on the site!!

Just found out some vital info on Pleasant Grove. HJ should roll this team.
