1. It is my understanding that the UIL chapter has more members than the TASO chapter and that the number of area schools are about evenly split on who is using what chapter. TASO may have a couple more schools than the UIL therefore the TASO chapter may be a little short handed.

All winners bracket games on Friday and Saturday will be broadcast. Some loser bracket games will be blogged.
3. The OC At WVU (Jeff Mullins) will be in Silsbee today to do a home visit with JJ and family. This is his third trip to Silsbee. The Head coach Bill Stewart will be visiting sometimes in January. Coach Tadamy of TCU will be in on Tuesday to visit with Jeremy.
4. I would not consider our local officials "professional referees" because this is not their sole source of income. This a part time thing. Now I do consider them to do a 'professional" job in which I believe for the most part, it is done. Refs have bad games, but the bottom line is they are out there doing their best and nobody can make every call correct, it's just humanly impossible.
5. The Jasper Bulldogs, 2009 3A Region III finalist, will make the first of two visits to Hardin County in two weeks as the 2A #9 state ranked Kountze Lions plays host to the visiting Bulldogs. Kountze is coming off an Evadale tourney championship while Jasper went 0-2 in the Big Sandy tourney. Let's see if the Bulldogs can slow these roaring Lions down. Broadcast time will be 10 minutes prior to the varsity game which is set approximately for 7pm. Click link to listen to another LIVE broadcast of a Southeast Texas basketball game!!!! #8 Jasper vs. #1 Kountze (HoopInsider Poll), LIVE here at SETXsports.com!!!! [Hidden Content]
6. swagg, let's stay on topic. This thread is about Orangefield.
7. I just hope they continue to get better each game. You can really see the progress this team is making. I think they will peak at the right time.
8.
Silsbee wins with ease........79-60.  Silsbee is the cream of the crop of SE Texas this year and will run away with this game, besides I will always root for a 21-3A team as long as they are not playing the Hawks!!!!
I believe PA Memorial has something to say about that. ;) ;D (of course, we Tiger fans know about the ploy that HJ fans are doing, building Silsbee up for the big fall) ;)
9.
Won't be able to make the game, but will get to the computer as fast as I can!!! [move]GO WILDCATS!!!![/move]
Great!! You can listen to the games at the YMBL!!!! ;D
10.
Silsbee by 24, 84-60.
I will be shocked if Silsbee wins by this much.
11.
i say silsbee by six not nine..........hill hits two three's late in the fourth to put it away.....
Obviously you don't know Silsbee basketball very well. Hill hardly ever shoots three pointers. Pheal may have shot 2 three pointers in his entire career at Silsbee. Trust me, he will not hit two three's late in the 4th. Now, he may get 2 three point plays late in the 4th because of how he attacks the basket. ;)
12. I see Silsbee's inside game being the difference in this one. Stallworth, Thomas and Jones will crash the offensive boards and enable the Tigers to get multiple shots on the offensive end. Thomas and Jones, Silsbee's version of the twin towers, will block and alter shots on the defensive end. Central was able to handle the press from HJ but Silsbee will not only press but defend much better in the half court because of their length.
13.
Barbers Hill should have been on the other side of the bracket........
Brackets? There were no brackets, it was all pool play.
14. Both Hill and Harris will be ready for Tuesday's game against Central. Silsbee is improving each game with other players beginning to step up their games. JJ really looked good against New Waverly, particularly on defense. He shut down their leading scorer in the second half. Silsbee takes this one. Silsbee  65 Central  56
15. I say play as many as you can this time of year to get you better prepared for district and possible playoffs. Tournament play is the time to do these sort of things. Who really cares if you win a tournament title as long as your team is progressing in a manner to get you ready for district. Silsbee plays 10-12 players every game this time of year, but that number may drop to just 8-9 come crunch time in district play.

17.

Final Spurger  85 Hardin    58 All I can say is, Hardin has two of the dirtiest players I have ever seen. Very disgraceful. Those two would never play for any team of mine.
Nor mine. I think Spurger play for a full 4 periods tonight, very proud of the boys for keeping their cool with all the cheap crap. congrats silsbee and spurger the only two undefeated teams left in the tourney. ;)
Good one court. I guess they'll settle it on Jan. 12th in Spurger. BTW, thanks for the Coke. ;D
18. Big Sandy tourney Silsbee  53 New Waverly  44 Silsbee wins title for 3rd consecutive year!!!
19. Big Sandy Tourney Woodville  57 Jasper      43
20. Halftime Woodville  27 Jasper      22 :o :o :o
21. Hill is sick and Harris had a funeral to attend. Jeremy will start.
22. Some bad news for Silsbee, Pheal Hill and Xavior Harris did not make the trip. Tigers without 1 starter and 1 key reserve.
23. Big Sandy Tourney Spurger  85 Hardin    58
