Can't find anything on those two games. I suspect Jasper lost or we probably would have heard from them. ;) ;D

Castle is the post player, goes about '6"3 but he is also about 230lbs. He played well in the two games I saw them play, Silsbee and Westbury Christian. The Bruin guards played very well against Silsbee, not so good against Westbury. Johnson is a good PG and Crane and Hayes along with Wells shoot the ball well. They need to go to the boards more to help out the post players since the team is on the small side. Overall, their quickness is their strength, but if they aren't knocking down the outside shot, they are in trouble. Proof, they shot the ball very well against Silsbee, not so much against Westbury. According to the roster that I got from the YMBL, West Brook starts 3 '6 players, a '6"1 and a "6"3. -
Silsbee 80, Jasper 20. Jasper lays low until the playoffs.
Jasper is not a playoff team. ::) Of course, their district may be very weak so they might make it due to attrition. Silsbee wins this one handily, by 25 or more. One hit wonder, j_dog. ;)

He did not start against Silsbee but he did start in the two games I saw them play after the Silsbee game. Still the same type of play. -
HJ was there for the taking last night. They definitely were off a bit without Riccosa and coming off that heated battle with Kountze. EC played well, particularly in the first half. They managed HJ's press well and took good shots. They also played good defense limiting the Hawks to just one shot most of the time in the first half. The difference in the game was the start of the second half when HJ opened it with a 7-0 run in the first 2 minutes of the 3rd to extend their 3 point halftime lead to 10, 34-24. The Hawks managed to get the lead to 13, at 47-34, but give EC credit for making a run to close the game. The Bucs outscored the Hawks 18-9 in the last 5 minutes of the game, actually trimming the lead to 2 on two different occasions and had a chance to tie it with 2 freethrows but could not convert them. HJ hit 7-8 freethrows down the stretch to preserve the victory.
We have a playmaker that can create his own shots. Did he get the ball late in the 4th? I'm talking about the Sophmore kid C. Smith that we've be talking about.
You know Soulja, you keep bringing up this Smith kid, but I am not seeing what you are seeing. I've seen the Jags play 3 times this year, and in each game all he wanted to do was stand at the three point line and shoot. I never saw him try to penetrate and try to create his own shot. Also, his defense was a little suspect. He still looks very young and unsure. -
Silsbee has 16 returning starters, 8 offense and 8 defensive.
Okay Hj loss Benard and replaced him with shooter. You right that makes Hj better by losing their all time Leading scorer and back to back district Mvp's. Carrington is no 3a player of the year.
I wasn't disputing HJ's losses. You said Cleveland was virtually the same team and I disagree with that. Carrington was a significant loss to them. I will agree that HJ lost more than Cleveland, but that doesn't mean Cleveland is the same team.
Clevland will knock Hj out in the 2nd round. Clevland has virtually the same team and Hj lost the best player in all of 3a last year.(Jarvis Benard) Clevland will play Sislbee Sat morning for the right to go to state. "plz believe me"
You are already wrong on one of your predictions. The final is not played on Saturday morning. It's played on Saturday evening. Also, Cleveland is not virtually the same team. They lost Carrington which is a significant loss for that team.

She's staying. Now the question is VBC1522, do you like that or not?
So the QB from Silsbee is not All State? Did I overlook him? That seems odd.
Nope, only local 3A school that had anyone make the teams was Jasper. ::) Again, I have never liked the AP all state teams, always too political. -

Any suggestions for "Game of the Day"
AggiesAreWe replied to swagg's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Probably the most competitive game will be this one: LC-M (9-5) @ Orangefield (7-4) PICK: LC-M (-3) -
With Cleveland, Hudson and Navasota picked to win their districts, the winner of district 21-3A will not face either of these teams until the regional finals.
