He was the "Spudd Webb" before Spudd came along. The '5"6 dunk artist with the smooth jumper. Esker was a fine player.
What year?  Was he around '78?
1977. He and William Coffey took Kountze to the title game that year but lost to Morton 63-60.
AAW, keep on going!  Here's to 100K!  BTW, my wife was out of town, and was able to hear you broadcast the HJ-EC game.  She said you did a better job of pbp & color than most of the TV broadcasting duos and trios doing NBA and NCAA games.  Keep up the good work!
Tell your wife thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. I do love what I am doing.

 5.
I agree, should not be a game in this one for Silsbee.
Yes. I would say that Woodville is the next best team in this tourney and Silsbee has already beaten them this year, 102-48.

 7.
I feel like a rookie :( :( Thanks for all the hard work you put in recognizing the kids with your broadcast.I try to go to a game every Tuesday and Friday somewhere but it is enjoyable to listen to your broadcast if I have to work late and get hung up.
I will be doing all of Silsbee's games at the Woodville tourney next week along with a few other games there. You can tune in then during the day on Mon-Wed.
 8.
No Cleveland players man wow that's all I gotta say :-\
It's just this one man's list and he may not be including Cleveland as far as what players to pull from.
 9. Just realized that I have broken the 10 grand mark. Makes me so glad that I worked out that deal with Jordan where I get paid $25 for every post. ;D Exclusive club I am in now, only 4 members. KFDMCoop, Scooter, Bullets13 and me.
 10. I like Whitaker's post up moves, he is solid on the block, both offensively and defensively. I thought his older brother Phillip was a better post player but George can step outside and hit a jumper every now and then and can also take a few off the dribble. Blankenship is one of the better shooters in the area, regardless of classification. He is also one of the smarter players too in that he knows what he can and can't do. He stays within himself very well. He has a very good basketball mind. McGallion is a solid PG that can score when needed. I saw where someone stated that they thought he was the best pure PG in the whole area. Well, I think he is good, but I'll take the White kid from PA Memorial over him. In the games that I have personally witnessed this year, he needs to get better defensively. He runs their offense very well though and gets the ball to the open man. All in all, these three could play for many teams in this area and would start on several, regardless of classification. They are coached very well and all three have a passion for the game. That right there get's you ahead of alot of players and teams.
 11. Silsbee already knows about those three from Spurger. They played in the summer league tourney at Silsbee and actually had a game against Silsbee in that tourney. Silsbee also played in the same tourney as Spurger earlier this season(Big Sandy) and was able to watch them play a couple of games. They were actually set to play each other on the second day but that was the day of the snow and that day got canceled. As for Spurger having a legit shot at Austin, the bench will have to step up some in order for these guys to make it that far. I will say that Spurger has as good a starting five as any 1A school this year.
 12. and just what kind of statement are you talking about? ;)

 14. Hated I missed this one. I really wanted to broadcast this game from EC's new gym. I got to get down there sometime this season. Congrats Coach Andrews on the win!
 15.
And all 3 of those losses came to a Brian English coached team. So with this win chalk that number up to 4 now. Anyone notice a trend here........
I wouldn't call 4 wins out of about 30 games, a trend. ;)
Yes he is.
Is he just as good?
Not quite. He is still young.
 19. Such bitter replies to a kidding post. ::)

 21.
Yeah but the year before ('08) the 2nd seed had an easier route, didn't it?
Actually no, it was pretty equal. We better get back on topic before LAZEEK bans us. ;)
 22.
I think Travis throws a game against H-J each year, so he can decide what route in the playoff he wants to go later in the year. ;)
Trust me, you want to be district champs in 21-3A, particularly last year and this year. Even though HJ made it to the state tourney and Silsbee didn't, HJ's route was way tougher than Silsbee's was, which really made their run through the playoffs impressive. The same will hold true this year. Whoever get's runnerup will have to face Cleveland and Navasota before regionals and then probably get Hudson in the regional semis.
 23.
Settle down AAW........just messing with you.  Silsbee is the best team in SE Texas.....they will destroy all 3A competition this year!!! ;) ;) ;)
Except HJ, they cheat. ;D
 24.
You wish!!!!!  Silsbee will be down next season.....all of their good players are seniors!!!!!!! ;) ;) ;)
I thought you knew the Tiger team better than that. Hill, Thomas, and Jones are the only seniors in Silsbee's top 9 rotation. Silsbee will have three starters returning in Lane, Stallworth and Gaines along with top bench players Harris, Lockett and Barrett. Silsbee only has 4 seniors on the team, Hill, Thomas, Jones and Simmons. They lose alot with Hill and Thomas, but have a great nucleous coming back. I wouldn't call them "down" next year. Just maybe not as good as this year. But, HJ will be in the same boat. ;)
 25.
all u guys know nothing..... 1983 daingerfield Tigers has held this honor......ALL 16 games no offense scored on them.  Only 8 points allowed all 16 games ( a safety and an int return).   14 shutouts.
I believe I made my post before you did. ;)
