Is that normal protocol? If he was enrolled last school year, one would think he would be eligible to play this school year. Does anybody know if he played in the game against Ozen?
No, he did not. I do not understand why he is not eligible. I would have thought when he enrolled in the spring, his eligibility would have been discussed then not at the beginning of this school year.
It's a technicality...WOS head coach did not release him...when the Kelly Rb transferred(from WB last year) I remember the WB staff commenting on that...if they(W.O in this case) do not release him and acknowledge the transfer was NOT for athletic purposes...he WOULD be eligible......because he was not signed off on...UIL considers him ineligible...
I guess the question now is, why didn't WOS release him? -
No, it will probably survive. The main offender who, so often intentionally disparaged people harshly and was so reasonably and objectively likened to Dicky V has departed the board, thus allowing it to become a love fest between well reasoned republicans and affectionate democrats and basically a model of decorum. I can envision Kumbaya being sung frequently and a general sense of well being penetrating the forum. By the way, if I want to ask Dove a question in this forum, will I be allowed to start a thread that says" Dove, I have a question for you"? It's lucky for you that "nobody" saw your post entitled "Hunter brothers transferring to Ozen". I certainly saw nothing wrong with that but there are some who would have classified that post as "indecent, disrespectful and calling them out".
First of all, I posted a news article about the Hunter brothers transferring to Ozen. That was the title of the article. I don't see how that would offend anyone. As for you asking Dove a question, couldn't that be done in a pm? If you are wanting more than Dove's response, then ask the question to the entire board.

Someone intentionally changed the birth date whether they thought they were correcting the information or not. One question I have..... I know the forms are filled out yearly, but doesn't the student have to produce a birth certificate at some point to confirm his/her age?
I have had two kids who have graduated and a third that is a senior and I haven't had to produce a birth certificate since they started kindergarten.
Question, did these children of yours attend the same school district from K-12? If so, then the school records would reflect their age from the birth certificate that was produced when they started kindergarten. It would also reflect if any of your children either missed a year, failed a year, or even possibly skipped a year. -
and I thought adding that political forum would help matters. ::) BTW, that forum may be going away, hearing the owner ain't too fond of whats going on over there. ;)
No. Not at all. Why would they? I don't understand? ???
The thing is, I have been so nice today, really do not want to ruin the mood. But, if you insist on me answering your question in this open forum, I shall do it with pleasure (and some bells and whistles to go with it ;)). Otherwise, I will answer it via pm if you like.

Silsbee vs Cleveland Predictions
AggiesAreWe replied to CATS80's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I will say this we may own Cleveland but if we pull the Silsbee vs WOS or Jasper history it will be like how we get owned.
I would agree with WOS "owning" Silsbee, but not Jasper. The all time record between Jasper and Silsbee is 40-31-2, in favor of Jasper. I wouldn't consider that "owning" but they definitely have the upper hand in the series. -
Not a Waltrip alum, but during that time I lived in the Greater Houston Area and followed that situation. ;) The Falu kid was a great talent, just misguided by some bad people at that time from what I gathered. He should have just come out in 98 like he was supposed to and his journey would not have been so long. He was also involved in a recruiting scandal when he played at Alabama, and ended up transferring to Vanderbilt. He could have been a pro, IMO, just had too many things happen to him in his school days, I think.
Madison High!!!!

Hmmm.. 240 males at HJ High School. Yet another reason to attend HJ. There are 100 more females than there are males!! Enrollment 586 male pop. 240 If I am a teenage boy, I like that ratio! ;D
Wondering now about the "Ozen Basketball transfers". Things that make you go hmmmm....
Well, in their case they both probably will be playing sub varsity this season, so it will not matter. -

Dont know about that Mr. AggiesAreWe....If you truly knew about the situation in the Houston area, you would not make broad generalizations about how the Yates HS kids are being "recruited" to the school...and the bias is obvious when it comes to your beloved Silsbee and its "transfers"....Mr. stevenash, I was also being sarcastic (extremely) in saying that Sour Lake was a hot spot of any sort....However when you guys get your "transfers", it does cause one to wonder why would anyone "transfer" TO Sour Lake, Texas.....BUT you guys find it impossible for a kid in the Houston area to WANT to attend Houston Yates HS...They REALLY ARE a magnet school for communications, as stated earlier...While I do not agree with all the high school kids transferring, I can't help but notice the obvious bias when it comes to certain schools in this area when it comes to the topic...On one hand its the "rich getting richer" but on the other its recruiting....which one is it? I guess it depends on where you live and who you root for...I guess.
Why would anyone "transfer" to Sour Lake?? How about virtually no crime and a high performing school district. Who in their right mind would want to move to the Yates district. Have you ever been to the neighborhoods nears Yates or for that matter most in Beaumont. Not the safest place for your kid to be around, just saying from experience!!
Well, in Jay Bilas (WY) case, yes he has. from the day he was born. ;) ;D
