AggiesAreWe replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I honestly don't see anyone beating Dallas Kimball, including Ball, LaMarque, Yates and Dallas Lincoln. -
Supposed to have been announced on campus at 11 AM? Why doesn't any of the media have the story at 2:30 PM? ???
Because I clearly stated I wanted to remain ananomous. ;D -

I thought Foster was an assistant to Tubbs his last two years?
-
I would like to see Billy Clyde get a shot here knowing that he would leave most likely in 5 years, particularly if he makes it to the dance those last couple of seasons. What I would like to see is BCG bring a good assistant in with him like what Tubbs did with Foster. Then when Billy leaves, hand it over to that top assistant to keep the program moving forward. But the assistant must be a Foster type, not a Roc type. Tubbs is 1-1 in that department. ;) I know that is much to ask, but why not?
Actually, the answer is pretty easy....exposure. By waiting till February, the award is not overshadowed by the BCS, the NFL playoffs, Super Bowl, college recruiting, coaching changes, all this teams, all that teams, etc. It has it's own day in the sun, not overshadowed by any other football story.
Good enough for me. -
The Bridge City Cardinals will be in Silsbee tonight to take on the #7 state ranked, #1 SETX Tigers in the Tigers Den at 8pm in 21-3A action. The Cardinals (8-18,1-3) are coming off a loss to Hardin-Jefferson, 89-40, while the Tigers (22-2, 4-0) defeated Orangefield last Tuseday, 76-36. Silsbee has won 12 straight and looking to continue that streak tonight. Silsbee swept the district series last year against BC. Broadcast will start 10 minutes prior to tip, which should be around 8pm. Just click the link to hear all the action. BRIDGE CITY vs. SILSBEE, LIVE TONIGHT at SETXsports.com!!! [Hidden Content]

Silsbee Girls Basketball are gonna be state champs
Silsbee has not been great this season, so far, but it is my prediction that from this day forward they will go undefeated. They have two star players in Tori and Ashley Waters who are sure to be all state players.
You shouldn't be mocking your school's team. Show support, but don't mock. -

BTW SANTA, explain this: [Hidden Content] You stated to a WOS fan that you PLAYED for Silsbee basketball team from 96-98. Care to comment on that? I am quite sure there are more of these type comments from you that we could pick from. BTW, have you lived in different parts of Houston within the last few months? ;) Piece of advise, you need to be more careful of what you post here on the site, it could come back to haunt you. ;D -

I'll be attending my 40th straight state tourney this year. Oh, and HJ is more talented than HF. That may change in the next few years, but as for this year, not close. Also, HF would still lose to HJ with Phil Jackson at the helm. ;)
AAW you must be a Celtic fan! :D
Nope, I always support the local pro franchises. I am a Rockets fan. -

Frankly, I am a little surprised someone with high moral standards would advocate such. As for bluffing, I guess you really never know until the cards are played. I know very little about poker but in the few games I have witnessed, it seems that if you have sufficient staying power(whether it be figuratively or literally), the need to bluff becomes less important.
I know about poker, that's what I do. I am willing to teach you, the hard way. ;) ;D

There are some coaches that have ZER0 knowledge of the human body and how it will respond to workouts. Those coaches do not need to be involved in making and implementing workouts . And I whole heartedly believe lifting weights will not help a kid hit for better avg. But it can help hand speed. Get the kid a tee and get to work to improve batting avg. Michael Jordan lifted weights even on game day. I guarantee his weightlifting helped him stay healthy throughout the season.
Someone PLEASE explain to me why these regimens, are , in general, at the direction of football coaches instead of the coaches of each specific sport. I can show you a number of instances where the basketball coach has a kinesiology background and the football coach does not. Guess who dictates the lifting programs.
Okay, show me a number of them. Will it be more than 1?
I think I will pass on that invitation to post names on the board. Nice try, though.
Well you are the one that brought it up. "Bring it, don't sing it". ;D
