Hardin (3-0) defeated Colmesneil 10-3 and Kirbyville 2-1 to advance to the championship game while Silsbee (3-0) took down Chester 20-0 and host Kountze 14-5 to put themselves in the finals. Give all the credit to Sealy. They made Silsbee play their game and it really showed in the 3rd quarter when they out scored Silsbee 19-6. Usually, that 3rd quarter has always belonged to Silsbee, but not tonight. For the first time this year, Silsbee looked the part of a tired team in the 2nd half and it really showed in the foul shooting and defense. Sealy's height was a great advantage on the boards, both offensively and defensively. Seals-Jones is the real deal but it was Richardson that really killed Silsbee. He came in only averaging 6 points and he scores 20, 18 in second half. IMO, he was the difference maker for Sealy tonight. Tough loss for Silsbee, much shorter playoff run than expected. To the 8 seniors, we will miss you guys. Great run. To DC and Petey, what can I say. You gave us 4 great years. I really hate to see it end this way for you two. I know you had big dreams of finally winning it all. I really feel for you guys. Keep your heads up and thanks for the memories of 4 years of great Silsbee Tiger basketball.

Hardin defeated Kirbyville, 2-1. Hardin advances to championship tomorrow at 2pm to face the winner of the Kountze/Silsbee game (started at 11:30am today) Kirbyville will play loser of Kountze/Silsbee in the 3rd place game tomorrow at 11:30am.

The #6 state ranked, #1 SETX and 21-3A District champs Silsbee Tigers will take on the Sealy Tigers in an Area round playoff game TONIGHT in Baytown at Goose Creek Memorial HS. Silsbee (30-2) had a bye in the Bi-District round but did get a warmp game win over Kountze, 95-63. Sealy (18-11), 24-3A's runner up, defeated Giddings, 64-52 in their bi-district matchup. These two teams do have a common opponent in Navasota. Sealy beat Navasota 62-58 back on Dec. 11 while Silsbee took down Navasota, 85-57 on Jan. 8.
