1. TABC preseason polls will be released on this Friday, Oct. 19.
 2.
It is amazing that more teams don't run the Slot T with the success that people have had with it.  Buna, OF and Vidor are proving it is hard to defend!
Hmmm.... lets see. Buna is averaging 341 yards rushing per game, Orangefield 357.7 per game thru 3 district games. Buna rushing against Silsbee 1st team defense, 103 yards. Orangefield rushing against Silsbee 1st team, 96 yards. (and neither team has faced WO-S yet) I think it is all about what opponent you are facing as to who can or cannot defend that offense. ;)
 3. Chad Cooper ‏@thechadcooper According to Lamar U AD Jason Henderson, "roll over from the previous years contract it basically adds 2 years from this year"
 4. Buna          27 HJ              14
 5. Christopher Dabe ‏@cmdabe Previous contract for Woodard ended Aug. 31, 2014: [Hidden Content]; This is a restructuring more than an extension. #BEscores
 6. It gets really real for Kountze this week. Newton        58 Kountze        8
 7. Chad Cooper ‏@thechadcooper Lamar University has extended the contract of head football coach Ray Woodard thru 2014 (2 year extension). He is 12-17 thru last win.
before i pick this one i would like to know how many points orangefield gave up to silsbee thank you very much
How about you look at Orangefield's or Silsbee's schedule that is posted on the forum to find out yourself? BTW, Orangefield didn't give Silsbee anything, the Tigers earned those points. ;) ::)

 11.
Buna coulda, shoulda, woulda had the 3rd spot. It still blows my mind how we blew a 24-0 lead. Nonetheless, Bridge City would be my top pick.  Orangefield is at a disadvantage because Bridge City has already seen (and found a way to stop) our offense. However, I still believe they are good enough to beat BC. That game will be the decision maker and I could see it going either way. Turnovers and defense will be key. I believe Buna will beat OF and HJ. and hopefully for us cougs BC will lose another game. IF the district ends up in a 3 way tie for 3rd like this...How would the 3rd spot be decided? Not sure how our district rules. Points scored vs allowed, coin toss, paper rock scissors, thumb war? WOS    6-0 Silsbee 5-1 BC 3-3 Buna 3-3 OF 3-3 HJ 1-5 HF 0-6
In the case of a three way tie, it goes to a point system. Whoever has the highest + point total out of the three advances to playoffs. If the three way tie involves Bridge City, Buna and Orangefield, the current point status for each team is as follows: BC          +4 (28-24 win over Buna) Buna        -4 (24-28 loss to BC) OF          --- (OF has not played BC and Buna) Remaining schedule for each team: BC        HF, HJ, WO-S, OF Buna    HJ, WO-S, OF OF        WO-S, Buna, BC For you Buna fans, your team needs some help to get in the playoffs. An example of what needs to happen to get Buna in the playoffs is this: BC beats HF and HJ, loses to WO-S, loses to OF by 5, giving them -1 point total Buna beats HJ, loses to WO-S, beats OF by 5, giving them +1 point total OF loses to WO-S, loses to Buna by 5, beats BC by 5, giving them 0 point total.
 12. It's getting lonely at the top. ;) ;D
 13. Typical week for me. ;) ;D
 14. Vidor        35 Central    30
 15. Alto @ West Sabine will be the best game. If you are willing to drive to Kirbyville, just go another 45 miles up the road to Pineland and see a much better game. Two state ranked teams.

 17.
will Davaughn thomas be the impacted player on silsbee high basketball team?
Will he be THE impact player? NO!!!!!!
 18.
RCS has a list of kids and which conference(s) in which they are projected to attend college. A couple of local kids on the list. Someone mentioned earlier that he played AAU ball this past summer with a 16U team and not a 17/18U team. Maybe he was not on their list bc he was not noticed at the lower level? Although I'm not a huge fan of AAU, I agree it is a necessary evil which kids should play if they want to get noticed. It's not easy to play in the Big 12. One has to be exceptional to get a scholarship with UT, Baylor, A&M, etc. Same with C-USA. As we have now learned, some of the better basketball kids in our area are not good enough to play in the SLC. I think a kid with the skill sets like Devante would be thrilled to be able to play for McNeese. Here's a question: Does Devante even want to play college basketball? Some kids get burned out after HS and AAU.
Uh Abe, A&M is SEC now. ;) ;D
 19.
PAM played a good game..as far game plan well we'll see if it applies when the SEASON starts...I remind you Ozenn played with some KEY pieces missing...Silsbee game was poorly officiated with the refs allowing Silsbee players to throw elbows and punches....
That could be said for just about every team there (except for Big Sandy). Silsbee is missing 2-3 starters(with 2 of those their best players in Holmes and Elam) and 3 key bench players.

 22.
AAW, are you on the Newton band wagon now?
I don't bandwaggon. ;) But, if you are asking if I think Newton is the best team in our small schools, then the answer is "yes". But, I have been voting Newton #1 for the last 3 weeks ever since EC lost to HJ.
