1. The games were played this past Friday in San Antonio, but I cannot find any results. We had 4 local players participating. Zay McDaniel    Kountze Cedric Reed      Cleveland DC Stallworth    Silsbee Adam Stark        Evadale
 2. Bridge City Cardinals lone local team left in playoffs. Congrats to Buna and Silsbee on their successful seasons. Good luck to BC next week against Robinson.

La Grange scored 8 runs with two outs to blow what was a great pitching dual. Tough way to end it. Great season Tigers, Congrats on the historical season.
 4.
After being around the program for years and seeing what has gone on, I am really just amazed at all of it. Here are facts- The last two head baseball coaches hired at WO-S had NO head coaching experience at all (one fired, and the last-not sure why he was let go). It is very clear how well that has worked out. Now the district goes out and hires the third in a row with no head coaching experience. I like Shea and wish him the best of luck, but you can not tell me that there are NO experienced baseball coaches out there who would not love to have a chance at the job. Why was the job not posted to see if there was other interest. It looks to me like the school has no interest at all in the baseball program and cares none if it is sucessful. That is unfair to the kids.
WOS could be in a budget crunch just like everyone else and they are consolidating their coaching staff.

 7. I really do not like saying this, but the home plate ump tonight was the worst I have seen all season and that's about 40 games worth. He was totally clueless!! He said the reason he did not give Scoggins a dry ball was because he did not have any in his pouch yet there was a box of them in the dugout waiting to be put in. I hope he never gets behind the plate the rest of series.
 8.
So was Becker the starting pitcher in this game for Giddings their #1, or they hoping to start the #1 on Friday??
Giddings pitching their #3.
 9. Giddings catcher ejected. First pitch of bottom of 5th.
 10. WOW!!!! Catcher ejected for allowing pitch to hit ump!!
 11. Okay, how bout catching the line drive instead!
 12.
Coaching is not the issue there.
That is what I have been told also.
 13. Sounds like the same scoreboard crew that worked the Silsbee/Bellville series is working tonight's game!! lol
 14.

Of course, there are no guarantees that he will succeed at the college level. But, I am willing to bet you any amount of money that he will be the starting QB for Lamar before the season is over and he will have success. I know what the coaches(LU) and scouts(at camps) have told me personally about JJ. I'll take their word over yours about him any day. ;) My point was that he will not play like Bevil like you stated. He will utilize his athletic skills to make plays, something that Bevil could not do. JJ's 4.38 forty is just the start of his advantage athletically over Bevil and the rest of the QB's. Bevil runs a 4.8. ;) You will soon find out.
I hope you have to eat your words on this one. I'll believe it when I see it though. I'm not impressed by 40 times honestly because football isn't played in a straight line. The fact is, no one has seen him play in a year. I'm sure he was well conditioned at WVU, but those are the only assumptions I can make. Hopefully the DII and NAIA teams will be a good warm-up for him before he gets to the DI competition, and then we'll see how he does (assuming he'll start). Go back and look at old posts on this board and all you see is raves about how athletic Bevil was. Like Geezer said earlier, he may have just gotten  happy feet, there's no guarantee JJ won't be the same way
BTW, why would you "hope that I have to eat my words" on this one? You have something against JJ? Do you want him to fail?
 15. Silsbee will be hosting their big 3 day summer tourney in July. Last year, there were 24 teams in tourney.
