Example: Cleveland will dress 7 sophomores for tonights game against HF. Five of which are true sophomores. Just doesn't seem fair to those kids but I know thats just the way it is. Seems like Cleveland I.S.D. needs to work on the grades instead of Basketball.
????  ???
I think hj15 saw where you pointed out that 5 of the 7 sophomores for Cleveland were TRUE soph., meaning that two of them must have failed a grade or two.
 6. DV, this morning my wife saw the T-shirt I bought last night hanging over a chair at the kitchen table. She loved it! Wanted to know why I didn't buy her one. ;D She loved the slogan on the back of the shirt: "Put the Crown on it! Reclaiming the Throne!!" "OOH, AHH, 3rd Ward High!!" ;D ;D ;D
Tell you what bullets, given the appearance across the board of that Lions team, I would have been asking for some birth certificates if I were the opposing coach! ;D ;D ;D
Heres what you will find out about many players who are getting a lot of press. Yates players included. Most have always been older and not in their right grades. Some parents hold their kids back, while others may have failed at an early age AND had late birthdays. By high school, it really doesn't make too much a difference. But 5th year seniors is kinda pushing it for schools like Trenton and Findley Prep.
After watching the highlights (thanks AAW) this is a fact not an opinion. If #12 is Swift, then he is as much of a high school sophmore as I am and I'm pushing 40. Maybe he should be a junior but senior is more likely. What an embarassment for Texas high school athletics. I would really like to see the UIL continue to crack down on these acts in an effort to reward all those student athletes out there that do it the right way in the classroom and on the court.
#12 is Swift and he is listed as a sophomore.
 8.
Warren?
Warren didn't even make the playoffs. Went 7-18 on the season.
 9. I will be in Lufkin at Angelina College broadcasting the Silsbee/Splendora game. Also will stay and watch Goodrich play Kennard following Silsbee's game.
 10. In the first game last night between Houston Washington and Houston Reagan, Reagan reminded me a lot of Silsbee. Fast, quick and athletic, with relentless man to man defensive pressure, but on the small side. Reagan defeated Washington last night after trialing at the half 32-17. Reagan was in the same district as Yates, finished runner up to Yates. Yates beat Reagan in district 92-60, 110-40. ;)

 21. This was the second time I saw Yates play Wheatley this year. In the first game, Wheatley had every chance to win that game, but didn't. This game, they never had a chance. Yates dominated from start to finish. They were clearly the better team tonight. Yates has 8 seniors on the team. 3 starters ('6"7 Santee, '6"7 Ellis, '6"1 Hickey). 3 key reserves. The other two starters are sophomores ('6"7 Swift, '6"5 Washington). Yates has 3 soph. and 2 juniors on the varsity. Swift is a very special player. He will be tough the next two years. 21 total dunks tonight (14 by Yates, 7 by Wheatley) Yates soph. Swift had the most with 7. Was hoping for a better game, but still enjoyed it and  had some good company to enjoy it with. (WOSGrad, ST413, Dick Vitale)
