1. Tweet from Fox 4's Nick Canizales: NickCanizales Nick Canizales #Lamar QB Caleb Berry suffers broken leg late in LU's loss to McNeese St. Berry was limping and was forced to stay in the game. #Unreal NickCanizales Nick Canizales Head Coach Ray Woodard was heard telling Berry on the bench "I need three more passes out of you." Berry had to be helped off the field
 2. I'll be broadcasting the Vidor/Angleton game (play-by-play) Friday night, then broadcasting the Ozen/LaMarque game (color) on Saturday afternoon. I'll finish my weekend with a trip back to GPISD to do a live game blog of the Nederland/Pearland Dawson game Saturday night.
 3. A very tough back to back games for Woodville. WOS today followed by Silsbee tomorrow night.
 4. Final Deweyville  47 Bridge City  76
 5. I predict a very good game! Pulling for the Bulldogs but see it ending in a 24-21 Katy win.
 6.
Been there, done that. Get a good young coach who cares about your community and keep him there long enough for him to build a program. Don't even think about Jeff Mathews, though. I got a good deer rifle and you won't make it across the Neches river bridge with your offer. BTW, the morons in Crosby just let a good one go...
IMO, Hardin-Jefferson has that coach already in current AD/HC David Martel.
 7. If the show happens this week, it will be Wed. night. Because of the holiday, we may wait till next week to do the show. Stay tuned!!
 8. Personally, I do not have a problem with those two players missing the first game of the season (a non district game) because of an all region choir contest. The choir contest was much more important than the basketball game. Now if this were a district or playoff basketball game, then I would have a problem with it.
 9.
Bad article!
This wasn't an article written by one of the writers for the BE. It is a letter to the editor that was published just like all the letters to editors get printed.
 10.
Not sure about the two players Silsbee will have later in the year but the roster lasy friday only had two seniors. Kelton Gaines and a reserve.
The two players waiting to play (sitting out their required UIL time), one is a soph., other a junior. Silsbee only has two seniors on varsity this season.
 11. Final from Saturday
UT does not go looking for SE Texas plow mules, they look for thorough breeds. No need for luck.  Luck is for those teams that are not prepared and not as athletic.  The problem with just having heart is, that the heart can be ripped out by a good team.  EC has not faced a good team yet, besides maybe Newton and from what i understand they had there best running back out that game.  Only common opponent is Woodville.  EC vs. Woodville 21-9.  Tatum vs. Woodville 50-13.
The rookie, unintelligent, youthful mistake. Comparing common opponents. ::)
No rookie here or youth for that matter.  Just knew to here because I did not know that SE Texas actually talked about football, since they usually do not have much to talk about. lol
It's a shame you didn't pay more attention to spelling than you did to football...Then you would know the difference between "New" and "knew" and how they are used in sentences.... ;D ;D ;D
Very true.  Got ahead of myself. I can see that some fans on this board know more about grammar than they do about football.  Should call it SETXGrammar Forum.  Typically those fans that use grammar as a form of defense, are watching their team play basketball by this time of year.
Yea of little knowledge. ::)
