7. Also, you can post any questions here on this thread that you may have about playoff scenarios and we can try to answer them for you during the scoreboard show.
 8.
Doug Prewitt seems like a very smart young man. He may not have taken "live" reps but I'm sure he did what is called mental reps. Plus, he has thrown the ball in drills and probably ran the scout team offense. So, he has thrown the ball the last 8 weeks. Per NCAA rules there is only so much time on the field with the players so it is hard to get 3 QB's ready for games. He just has to get down the gameplan for Saturday and if he plays well he'll deserve another start next week.
That's correct. I don't know of any team at any level( HS to NFL) that has their 3rd string QB taking reps during the week other than during drills.

The problem with having odd numbered teams in a district, is that it forces some of those teams to have off weeks during district play, resulting in someone being forced to have their off week not until week 10. A lot of coaches do not like this and that's why the UIL tries to get districts with even numbers so that this can be eliminated.
Why wouldn't the coaches do what they've been doing before having there off week the week before district play starts? They would just have to bring in a non district game in week 3.
Not exactly. With an odd numbered amount of schools in the district, that would have someone not playing each week of district play. Therefore, teams would have to schedule their off week during district play. It is very, very difficult to schedule a non-district game during district play due to the fact the most teams do not have off weeks during this time of the season.

 11. I still have not been given confirmation on if this happened recently or earlier in the season. Yes, St. Thomas won the last game, but Kelly won the earlier game. Which practice did this person attend?
Don't know the real story, I have to beleive the Dad's story of innocience.  However I have a question.  What is the difference between spying vs scouting.  I have attended many sporting events via football, basketball and baseball with opposing coaches watching closely, and taking notes.  Also, coaches exchange previous game tapes weekly. If the Dad was spying, then shame on him and Kelly.  Then again, how many coaches even listen to parents?
The difference is that it is allowed for coaches to scout games but not practices. Big difference. At practice, you could see what a team maybe preparing for their upcoming game, particularly if it is against your team.
 14. With these "smart phones" these days, a lot can be taken with out a pencil and note pad. I doubt very seriously that a spy would ask questions. Again, I don't believe he was spying, but to say St. Thomas does not have some kind of case, is a mistake.
 15.

here is the true story.  The administrators of this site know who I am and can verify that I would know the truth.  Early last week, one of the Kelly parents was in Houston on business and for reasons unknown to the rest of us decided to stop by St. Thomas and watch practice.  Someone from their staff noticed him and since they did not recognize him sent someone over to inquire who he was.  Not realizing that he was doing anything wrong, he gave his name and said he was from Kelly.  NO coach had any knowledge that this man was going to this practice.  Kelly had already clinched the district title prior to this game.  We had already beaten Thomas the first time we played them.  The main goal for this game was to get some injured players some rest.  That's the story.  There is nothing else.  Someone from St. Thomas has obviously leaked this to the TV station.  I would hope that in this situation, you will see Kelly as a member of the Southeast Texas community and give them your support.
I believe this to be true. Thanks for posting. BUT!!!!!!!! St. Thomas does have a case here. As far as they should be concerned, this was spying. Kelly coaches and admins can deny it all they want but it doesn't change the fact that a "Kelly" person observed a St. Thomas practice. I imagine there has been many cases of spying where someone was sent but not claimed by the spying team. Again, I don't believe this to be the case, but it would be very difficult to explain before a TAPPS board. It would also be very hard for a TAPPS board to explain to St. Thomas that Kelly did nothing wrong. I personally believe nothing should come of it but if St. Thomas was to continue to pursue any kind of action, you cannot blame them.
With all due respect: 1. St. Thomas has a sketchy case at best.  2. If St. Thomas pursues this, then they are petty and will reap what they sow. 3. There is no proof one way or the other...plus Kelly got their butts whipped!
Hmmm..... that this person acknowledged he was a Kelly person and was watching the St. Thomas practice. That is some sort of proof and that's all that should matter to St. Thomas. Kelly may not have sent the guy and had no idea the person was going to do this (which I honestly think this to be the case). But, I imagine many a school has said this in their defense of these actions when brought before a UIL or TAPPS board, be it honest or dishonest, and still had some kind of reprimand or violation brought down on them.

He had no business being there and St. Thomas has to assume that he would go back and give info to Kelly coaches. Like I said, nothing should come of this, but a case can be made.
 18.
I think I fixed all the errors... Thanks for the time in reading through and replying back with edits. This little website of mine has developed a little bit of a fan base (about 2,000 hits a day). I tell my wife that I have to update my site because of my "fans" and she just rolls her eyes and says "whatever."
Maybe it's just folks going over to find your consistent mistakes and point them out to you. ;) ::)
 19.
There are a couple of more Tiger fans that are planning on making this trip as well.  :)
I received word that Silsbee plans on keeping their game with West Brook on the 30th. Just may have to move the game back to 5 or 6pm, instead of the original 2:30pm.
 20. cmdabe Christopher Dabe Lamar's Doug Prewitt getting more practice reps w/ injuries to Andre Bevil (ankle) & Jeremy Johnson (ribs). Starter TBD. Courtesy of Fox 4's Nick Canizales: Todd Whitten on Doug Prewitt: He had not taken snaps in 8-9 weeks. If we end up going with Doug I have confidence he will do well Also, Lamar LT Anthony Oden (ankle) is practicing and will play Saturday, coach Ray Woodard said. Ray Woodard on SFA Offense: Most improved team the last 4-6 weeks. Really playing well with a lot of confidence. Have to slow them down Woodard on last year's game vs SFA: Our team realizes what the score was and we are playing a good football team. Woodard on not giving up big plays: Can't afford 2 do that against anyone. It makes u question about what your doing & just try 2 get better Woodard: It's really important we play well these last 3 games for recruiting.
 21.
That is all posted in jest.  His intent is to make everyone "over expect" from HJ and "under expect" for Silsbee.
This sounds very familiar, just the opposite though. ;) ;D
 22. You guys are forgetting something. North Forest will no longer be a school next year. The school is closing and those students will be moved into other schools. 19-4A will lose a school because of this so actually, 19-4A could take in a Livingston and keep the district numbers the same. 20-4A would be short.
It should have been.
What happened?
Well, let's just say that KFDM and BISD are not too friendly these days. ;)
 24. I just figured everyone from Vidor would want to play Crosby after how they backed out of a home and home with Vidor a couple of years ago.
