I wonder if Ozen is still denying that James ran in the 4X400 relay? Exactly what proof of James running in that race was given to the district executive committee for them to make this decision?

But it is very difficult to access the QB position with the "no contact" rule. The coaching staff has not allowed any of the QB's to run the ball and in the spring game when a defender just breathed on the QB, they ruled him down. I know in Jeremy's case, taking away his ability to make plays with his legs minimizes his play making abilities. Jeremy is a dual threat QB and his running ability is what sets him apart from many other QB's. I realize that Jeremy needs some more work in his passing but IMO it is not as bad as some try to make it out to be. I watched the spring game last night and yes JJ was 7-17 for 60 yards, but he had a few drops and 3 completions were nullified due to penalties, 1 of which was a 40 yarder. Also, with the "no contact" rule, he missed out on making some plays with his running ability and I know for sure on 4 plays he would have gained big yards. No QB is standing out right now, but if I had to make a decision on what I have seen, Berry would get the start.

I was a bit disappointed myself. I am afraid this season may be a rough one.

In the 8 years that Silsbee has been in 3A, they have made the regional tourney 6 of those 8 seasons. The Tigers made regionals in '05, '07, '08, '09, '10, '12, making the regional finals in '05, '07, '08, '10, '12, advancing to state in '08 and '10.

Was approved at tonight's meeting and Barbay has accepted.

Anahuac AD/HC Darrell Barbay has been offered and accepted the Jasper AD/HC job. Will be made official soon.

In regards to Silsbee, I know for a fact they were hardly at full strength. Playing these tourneys are fine but let's don't get caught up in the results too much.

Best all around team I have seen this season. Great pitching, solid defense, good, timely hitting. In the playoffs it's all about the draw and match ups. Bridge City can win in 1 or 3 game series because they have a dominant pitcher (Lemoine) and a deep staff (Guidry, Smith and co.). But you just never know what can happen in a 1 gamer even with Lemoine on the mound. I expect the Cards to go as deep as any team in our area.
