Bridge City (16-2, 6-0) #2 in this weeks SETX polls, defeated Silsbee Wednesday night, 6-0, to break the tie and sit alone a top the district standings. Silsbee (16-5, 5-1) #3 in the SETX poll, suffered their first district loss and look to regain that tie with the Cards at the top of the district. It's against UIL rules to practice a sport out of season before or after school hours. You can practice a sport in the off season during school hours in the allowed 50 minute period. So, if your school has a class for basketball and baseball, they are allowed to practice that sport in the off season in the 50 minute period during school.

To the announcer on KOGT (which is not Gary Stelly), Silsbee pitcher Mathew Hartman is not Silsbee's #1 pitcher. I expected Silsbee to pitch Hartman, Jenkins and possibly Gore tonight and save Simmons and Murray for Friday night. Tigers willing to take a loss to save pitching with Powell out for season.
