The kids report at 7am for weights, if they dont show or they are late they are punished by having to carry tires...breakfast is delivered by kitchen to field house Im sure they have to pay..during first period kids work on football outside on pretty days. whats your opinion wosgrad and how does this differ from other schools workout program.
I think it is pretty clear. 7am is considered "before school". You are not allowed to have before or after school workouts in the off season. What would be the difference if athletics was the last period of the day and they held them over 30-45 minutes to "feed" them? That's against the rules.

 6.
If we get 4 inches of rain as some people are predicting, I doubt many teams will be playing tomorrow.  What is the rule on when district makeup games have to be played?  I thought it has to be made up on the first available date and before the next game, but I could be wrong.
All the more reason why to have bumped the games up to yesterday. Just didn't understand why not move them up a day. This forecast has been out for three days now.

Other than the AD, all others, including the coordinators, should have some classroom responsibilities. Cannot blame Jasper ISD for having to make these changes.
Again after looking over the school website..every coach is listed in an educational department, so who isn't teaching besides the head coach?
According to my sources, neither coordinator was teaching. The offensive co. is Morgan's brother and he was told he would have to start teaching next school year. Neither liked it so they are leaving.
very hypothetical!
This coming from a person who thought the state tourney was still held at Gregory. ::) Zero credibility!!
 13.

SXSW has impacted the State Tournament for some time.  I remember 15 years back when I was a kid and my dad took me, we stayed in the Omni downtown and I met Robert Duvall, Bill Paxton, Willie Nelson, and more.  We always had to book when we left the tournament for the next year and they were charging 250 a night back then.  I would hate to see it leave the Drum, alot of memories for me there, and being at State Capitol and in Austin always had the right feel, but if they have to I would rather see it moved to San Antonio than any other place. JMO
The "Drum?"  Man, I just found out this year it's not a Gregory Gym anymore. Now those are the memories  ;D
Can't believe you thought the state tourney was still held at Gregory. It's been at the Drum since 1978!!!35 years!!! You are completely out of touch, you should be banned from any basketball talk. Your credibility is totally shot!!! Your future posts will be subject to immediate deletion.
Agreed. Does anyone come to mind that can deal with such harsh (sarcasm) demands and make things right? I'm at a loss...
I say give Toby Foreman a chance.
 15. Jasper ISD was going to require some of the football coaches to teach in the classroom. Some of the coaches had not been teaching and Jasper ISD needed that to happen to make things work. Some of the coaches, including Morgan, did not want to change, therefore he resigned and others will follow. I find it very difficult to understand that a 3A school had multiple coaches not teaching in the classroom. I do not see where this is that much to ask of these coaches. I understand though that some of these coaches had never had to teach in previous jobs and was told they wouldn't have to in Jasper. Sounds like a complete mess to me.
I agree..... Especially with up to 4" of rain in the forecast...
Correct and this rain is predicted to last into Wed evening. Also another potential problem with waiting till later in the week to play these games is that several track meets will be ran on Thursday and Saturday. I imagine there are some baseball teams that have players who participate in track meets.
