I do not like it because "home schoolers" do not have to follow an athletic "code of conduct" and team policies that the public school athletes have to follow in order to make or stay on the team. Grades and curriculum is not the issue. Way too much "gray" area would be involved.

Silsbee Softball will take on the Columbia Lady Roughnecks in a Class 3A Region III Area round 1 Game playoff Friday night, 7pm at Barbers Hill HS in Mont Belvieu. Silsbee (21-8) are the runner ups of 21-3A and defeated Splendora in the Bi-District round, 3-0, to advance to Area Round. Columbia (22-4) are the district champions of 24-3A and received a first round bye. This is the first ever meeting between these two teams. Nothing has been worked out with Houston Washington but really do not expect them to beat West Columbia.

Both coaches have to agree on moving the game. I am always for accommodating for the multiple sport athletes whenever possible.

Silsbee's Adam Valencia hit his 1st homer of the season yesterday in game against Bridge City. Adam is a senior. Gives Silsbee a team total of 16 on year.
