1. Well, here at SETXsports, our coaches of the year for this past football season were Jeff Mathews of Vidor and Jeff Nelson of Ozen. [Hidden Content]
 2.
At DICK v, no I'm not a coach at lcm...just trying to get y'all all fired up! What about the old coach from nederland?? I forgot his name, I think it was coach Lawrence maybe? ;D ;D >:(
Again, not on the list. Coach Williams did not apply. Neither did Ron Jackson. I agree with DV, no way Ron leaves his assistant AD position at BISD for head basketball coach at Hamshire-Fannett. How about suggest someone that did apply?
 3.

I can't believe he could not make it a Lamar. Is there an issue outside of football?
Sounds, to me, that there is an entitlement issue.  He feels he should be a QB, but rather than work to get better, he just runs away whenever he isn't made to be the man.  It's a common issue with kids who were the one shining diamond in their small towns.  All their life they are told how great they are, and they never have to work for anything. Then they get in a situation where they have to work and they run.  I understood the transfer from WV.  That is a big time school and I"m not sure anyone thought he'd hang in there, but Lamar?  If he cannot play QB, he should be content playing WR or doing whatever he can to help his home university.  The NFL is not in his future so I do not understand this chasing the QB dream.  Just play football and stop whining.
Typical comments made not knowing the situation. ::) Jeremy is a very hard worker, cannot question his work ethic or attitude. JJ just wants to play QB. He may feel his best option to do that is somewhere else. I am not happy about him leaving Lamar. Would love for him to stay. But I don't know entirely what his situation was so I can only take it he is doing what's best for him in his career and what he wants to accomplish as a college football player. My most concern is he get a degree, at whatever school, and not so much an NFL career.

 5.
Assistant Head in lcm would be a good candidate.
No one currently on staff at LCM is on the applicant list.
 6.
OKay, so lets get on the transfer from HJ
Why?
 7.
This is sad.  Three years, three schools.  His twitter says he is headed to Houston for the summer.  I'd have trouble beleiving he will go to UH.  I know HBU is starting football...maybe?  Anyone have any ideas where he may land?  He can always look at the lower divisions if he is heck bent on playing QB.  That's probably the only way.
He is going to Houston to stay with his brother who played for UH. It's my understanding that Jeremy will go JUCO next year so that he can play immediately and still have 2 years of eligibility at a four year school. If he chose to transfer to another four year school in the fall, he would have to sit a year. I am hearing he will be going to Blinn.
 8.
The kid has talent!  I was hoping he could use it at LU in some capacity?  He had game breaking moves and running skills.  Although I didn't think he was ready yet to captian the offense at QB, he could have grown into that position or made the change to another position (receiver?). Hate he is leaving!
My sentiments exactly.
 9. Coldspring did win the flip. They wanted a 1 gamer, Silsbee wanted a best of 3 series.
 10. To answer the question in the title of the thread..... No
 11. Josh Mitchell, former girls basketball coach at Deweyville, has been named AD at Spurger. Coach Mitchell will coach girls basketball and boys baseball.
 12. It's Senior Night at the Tiger Diamond as the #8 Silsbee Tigers play host to the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns in the 21-3A district finale for both teams, TONIGHT at 7pm. Hamshire-Fannett (12-9, 2-7) comes off a close loss to district champ Bridge City, 3-1, and look to finish their disappointing season on a winning note. Silsbee (17-7, 6-3) #8 in this weeks SETX poll, got a 2-1 win over WOS to secure a playoff spot and the #2 seed. Silsbee will play either Coldspring or Liberty in the Bi-District round. Silsbee defeated Hamshire-Fannett 3-2 in the first half of district. Silsbee will be honoring these seniors tonight: Garrett Drake, Ross Lightfoot, Jacob Murray, Colby Jenkins, Michael Simmons, Heath Donalson and Jerry Self. Our broadcast time will start 10 minutes prior to the first pitch which is scheduled for 7pm. Click the link provided to listen to all the action LIVE!!!
