i got WO-S playing in State, not versus Stephenville either ;)
WOS wouldn't play Stephenville in the championship game anyways. WOS will be DII, Stephenville will be DI. Scooter, I thought you was a football guy? You should know these things.

Word is that current boys head basketball coach at West Hardin, Kully Hoffpauir, is the front runner for the Spurger job. The Spurger ISD board will meet Thursday to make a decision. -
Who from buna??
I am assuming it is Buna's post player Tyler Edwards. He started as a freshman last season for Buna and I was impressed with this young man. He has definite potential to be one of the best players in our area over the next 3 seasons. Tyler will definitely be "da man" at Buna the next three seasons.

:o :o :D :D They finnaly showed a little respect, huh? Lol
exactly. smh. about time. i like their new coach already. ;)
Shows what little you guys know. The new coach did not pick the homecoming opponent for West Brook. The date was set by admins, not the coach. Do you guys really believe the coach picks the homecoming opponent? Man, you guys need to get a little more educated on the "how to's" of running a school. I may have to have you guys take an aptitude test for you two to be on the weekly preview shows. -

KRH has turned things around and the kids believe.
Ole' "X Box" has got it goin' on... :D
we dont rebuild, we just reload now.
We shall see just if PAM is now to the point of reloading. On paper, I'd go LP, NS(the junior class beat PAM's junior class as freshmen by a TD. It's on youtube)DP(Yes I said it, then PAM. 1 Olineman returning and losing a gang of talent and leadership in their front 7. But once in the playoffs, who knows. PAM may go on another run..........
A 4th place district finish for PAM predicted by 85. Interesting......
I wouldn't count out Coldspring.
ooops, i forgot all about them. i would put Jasper in the same boat but they cant keep a head coach. would Silsbee play Coldspring first in the playoffs or would wo-s have first crack at them?
Silsbee would never play Coldspring in the playoffs. Silsbee goes DI, Coldspring DII. Silsbee is the largest school in 21-3A, Coldspring is the 2nd smallest in 22-3A(Shepherd is the only school in 22-3A that is smaller than CS) WOS and Coldspring would most likely meet the first time in the regional finals unless WOS is the #2 DII seed out of 21-3A and Coldspring is #1 DII out of 22-3A or vice verse. Then they would face each other in the Bi-District round (1st rd). They did this very thing a couple of years ago.
Could we see any Allstate performers this year? Seems like they have a strong team coming back. Their schedule is very very tough compared to past years. How far could they go this year.
I really do not see all state performances but not out of the question. It will not take all state performances to make this team successful. Just good solid team play. The interior line play on both sides of the ball will be the determining factor on how far this Tiger team can go.
who they play for homecoming?? ::)
::) ::) ::) You kids never learn. -
I don't think all of Silsbee players have been playing summer ball. A lot of Silsbee players play football. Silsbee will have 4 starters playing football. I don't think basketball will be their focus right now in July. Maybe HJ should have some of their super athletes help out in the football team?
Just 3 potential starters play football (Holmes, Elam and Reed). Wilson and Dobbins do not play football. Jackson, Barnes, Scott, and Williams play football. Jontell (Irving McArthur transfer last year) may play football, but has not decided yet. You are correct that some of Silsbee's players have not participated fully in summer league play. Some have been involved in 7 on 7 football and football camps.
Its about time coach T got a shot at a head coaching job. Was a great player and and even better coach. No matter what sport he was helping with he was awsome at it. As long as the EC kids buy into him they have a brighter future. "Glad they are not in same district as us anymore now i can root for him more" Unless they meet Kountze in the playoffs then have to go with tha Lions. GOOD LUCK T YOU DESERVE IT
The only way East Chambers and Kountze can meet in the basketball playoffs for the next 2 years is at the state tourney in either the semifinals or state championship game.
I think that they will be competitive but not reach the success they experienced the last 3-4 years for several reasons. The big one is that the little dribblers programs ended a few years ago and thus there is not a programs to teach the kids when they are small basics. An additional reason is the of this string, to hire and keep a good coach for any length of time in a 1A school is very hard. There is not a consistant influence and too many things are in play/flux. Up until the last taste of success over these last few years, there really wasn't a desire to be much or obtain much. If it happened, it just happened. A few people got involved in the little dribbler program, pooled together those boys and we all saw what happened. The last thing lacking is leadership in the district to be more than just average. That might tick some off, but from my view, soem just do not want to change. Thats my 3.5 cents worth.
Good post. I think you are on the money. Let's hope this new coach, whoever it will be, can build something for years to come. -

Two local head basketball coaching positions open
AggiesAreWe replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Could be a decision made tonight at EC board meeting on their boys head basketball position. Meeting scheduled for 6pm. I am going to try and make it down there if the weather clears some. Hopefully we will have some news on the new head coach, whoever that will be. Word is that former Kountze player and asst. coach and current WOS assistant coach Tremaine Hancock is the frontrunner for the position. -
