[/quote] Speaking of that type situation, I am predicting Silsbee to make it to the 3rd round of playoffs which would keep about 7-8 varsity basketball players (including 3 starters) from being able to play the first 3 weeks of the season, which would include the Fred Williams Classic and the YMBL tourney. I predict that those players first opportunity to hit the courts will be the Nederland Tourney on Dec. 6-8.

HISD knew that they could have their own 3A district which would help in the travel. That was the reason for those schools always opting up in the past because they did not want to be stuck in a district outside the loop. But, from what I was told, Yates actually thought their numbers would keep them 4A so they did not check the box. After the fact, some admins at Yates wanted to appeal but HISD said no. From what I have been told, Yates will be back in 4A next realignment no matter what their enrollment is.
