That seems to be the case from what I hear. The "committee" consisting of students, teachers and community leaders looks to be just a "token" committee. Personally, I didn't like the Hurricanes as a mascot, but if that's what the kids want, then so be it.

I would think the sup would know that and not make that kind of comment to the press.

Not how I understand it. According to the article, a head coach that doesn't remain a head coach and is hired as an assistant in the school district will likely not receive current head coach pay.

That's not what the article states. Quote from sup: " Frossard said that "for the most part," salaries won't change if employees move to new positions, "unless they're doing something substantially different," such as head coaches that become assistant coaches.

I know that you did. I wasn't breaking any news. Just posted the article which also stated that all admin positions would be open as well. That hadn't been stated. Article also stated that all teachers currently employed will remain employed. Very interested in seeing how that happens

I never saw a 9th or JV game last year for those two schools. I did see a couple of varsity games for each. The rosters I received had Central varsity with about 46 players and Ozen around 38.

I would like to get some Baylor peep perspective.

Yes indeed, Coach Payton will be missed. He was a great coach and special person. He also was one of the best high school basketball officials this area ever had.

I would say Kalon Barnes is right up there.

Exactly Heard he did it over at smoaky too.

I have personally witnessed Lumberton students, players and fans act disrespectful. Every community and school has them. Also, my wife who taught over 15 years in Lumberton ISD, can vouch my comments.

The other teams were that much better?

Navasota and Houston Wheatley are very, very good.
