Soulja, I was told by some of the students that he has a younger brother in the 9th grade that is a stud as well on the football field. He plays QB as well. I wonder if they move him up to varsity next year where would he play?

Legacy @ Central JV/Varsity Updates/Central wins!Alpha Wolf replied to Alpha Wolf's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads Westend, that's a good question seriously. This game will not make Central any better for district. It will actually help Legacy once they get into their district play but I see nothing but false confidence coming out of this one for Central. Too many other schools they could have played to get better than to pick on the smallest high school in BMT. Just another reason why they will continue to loose to Ozen and WB.

Englebert, I doubt you will but what school do you support or town do you stay in? Its no secret of whom I am a fan of, Central. And yes we do a team prayer in the locker room, a short one after we come out and run to the other end zone before the opening kick off, after the game is complete and if a player chooses to kneel for 2.38 seconds, i see know problem with it. If he chooses not to, I see know problem with it. I guess its just the culture of that particular school and community realizing that there is a higher power but I will not try to force that on anyone so if you don't like it, cover your ears or don't come to the game. I am also a fan of Kirbyville where my folks are from so I attended several of their games. You actually see the prayer more in the small towns more than you do in the big cities. I think it is more because of the small towns not caring about some law that was passed and who it offends and the big city schools affraid that they will offend somebody, somebody will loose their job and/or be suid.
Are you serious right now? The kid was giving thanks to the Lord and possible short prayer, reguardless of how long he holds onto the ball. That is downright rediculous for penalizing a player who celebrates a TD by thanking the Lord and pointing to the heavens because he held the ball too long? Something isnt right here...
So how long is a player allowed to pray in the end zone? I know some preachers that give 15 minute "short" prayers. Maybe if he gave the ball to the ref, then went to the sidelines and knelt and prayed, I doubt if he would have gotten a penalty. He could have prayed until it was time to go back on the field. There are many ways to give thanks to the Lord without making a spectacle of it.
Maybe if some of the kids kneeled for 2.38 seconds of their life, they would find the endzone more often and their team would get more wins...Englebert.
IT JUST ALL DEPEND ON HOW YOUR TEAM IS PLAYING,AND YOU ALL KNOW THIS.IFyour team is winning, then you are going to have people in the stands(dayton broncos)all the time,at home or on the road.if your team is not as good(north forest)the you are going to have only the players parents, grandparents, uncles etc in the stands, not the entire community ,like we are in bronco town.we tell the last one in DAYTON to turn off the lights when they leave
I have to agree with "bronco34" somewhat. Last year when Central played Huntsville in the second round of the playoffs at Aldine Thorne Stadium, they turned out pretty deep over there. But it might have been to see the D-1 kid they had playing QB and the town thought they had a chance to win. I guess the town felt there was no real chance to beat Montgomery so they didn't go. One thing I can say about our district (20-4A) is that all our schools have fan support. I didn't make the Livingston game so don't know about them but Ozen probably has the smallest fan attendance and I just contribute that to the school only being in existence for 10 years and being known as a basketball school but they still have a decent turn-out. We don't have PN-G attendance but I'm proud of my Jaguar fans at Central for supporting our kids. I'm a c/o 95 from Central and don't have any or know any kids personally that played since 95 but if I wasn't at work, I was supporting my Jags on Friday night.
