Let me start off by saying this...I don't care what anyone has to say about it...but Deweyille is not a bad footba team. They don't have much speed, but they can move the ball. And that QB is a hoss. Deweyville played their hearts out tonight. Woodville won simply because they are much more athletic as a team than Deweyville.

Deweyville moved the ball well and played very physical football. They don't have much depth or speed, which killed them in the forth quarter. But overall, a good game for Deweyville. They played well.

Woodville, on the other hand, looked sloppy. A win is a win is a win though. It wasn't pretty by any means and we will definitely need a better performance next week against Hardin. Silly penalties and poor tackling is what kept this game close. Woodville won this game simply because they out-ran Deweyville all night. If Woodville executes better next week and eliminated the penalties, they could be headed for a 4-0 start for the first time in years.

Good luck to our district friends, Woodville.

Okay, I understand that your QB and Center did not play the other night. But lets not blame the loss entirely on that. You don't get beat by almost 30 points because two people are hurt. I think it would have been more competitive with them on the field, but I highly doubt those two players would account for 20+ points on the offensive side of the ball, not to mention stopping New Waverly on the defensive side of the ball. Other than that, I hope the QB and Center are ready for Friday. Woodville will be fairly healthy as well, coming off a bye. As I said, they better be ready for a dog fight :)

Good game from both teams. Nothing to be sad about if you are a Hornet. Starting QB & Center out, which gave the Offense some challenges at times and would also be very evident when drives would stall, or miscues became a common occurrence. Final stats had both teams very even on the night. Hardin will take next week off, before traveling to Woodville for the first district game.

Once again, congratulations to both teams on a very hard, clean, entertaining game.

First, I was referring to when we play Hardin, seeing as this is a Hardin-based thread.

Second, I didn't even reference Kountze in my post, but since you want to take it there, I'll be happy to oblige.

I think Kountze is a very good football team. I think they have a lot of speed and athleticism and are very well coached. I think they are also pretty under-sized and out-numbered for this district. Which is going to hurt them when they play Buna, EC, and Kirbyville. I would even venture to say Woodville has more size than them. But that may be a mortal sin in the eyes of football guru Tex-Mex. Because, ya know, it's impossible for a team to improve from the previous year. But I also forgot to mention that Kountze is now a football powerhouse, right? You go forty years without a playoff birth and finally get one and all of a sudden you're clear favorites in half your district games? Lol okay. Ask me how many times Woodville made the playoffs in those forty years :) or better yet....ask me how many times Woodville beat Kountze over that span.

Now, I'm not at all a Kountze-hater. Personally, they could very well beat Woodville and will probably be the favorite in that game. In fact, I will root for Kountze in any other game except for when they play Woodville. Great school, great town, and a great team.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. New Waverly is very much improved from last year. They impressed me when they came to Woodville.

I'm going to do it win or lose. Just to make your life on this website that much more frustrating lol and I'll be sure to point out every little flaw about Kirbyville and over-exaggerate about it just like you do for every little good thing about them.

Uncle Si he was a really good ball player. I have heard that he is making a name for himself in the coaching field.  Very fine young man and we are proud of him.  Warren is not a traditional football powerhouse nor have we ever claimed to be.  However, we do have talent and are far from being pathetic.
