49-3 Huffman... Yes, I thought Tullos really had a good thing going in Cleveland...They were a real solid team with him at the helm...It's amazing how many school administrators meddle and mess up a good thing...

How bad of a decision was it to run off Tullos?  I never fully understood that whole ordeal...From the outside looking in it seemed like something that shouldn't have ever happened...

Anyone actually at the game?

I guess that's what tends to make athletics and the people that participate a little different...No matter how big of a underdog you may be you still feel like you have a chance if you play lights out and get a few breaks.... In the end it's the effort given (by each individual) that's most important...Not necessarily the outcome...All each player can do is give their absolute best... I'm sure both teams will be ready to go because neither side wants to go winless...

Wow, they did a really good job on the monument...

As previously mentioned Coldspring's backfield duo of Gilbert and Monroe will be on the list....Gilbert should finish regular season with well over 1500 and Monroe should finish close to 1200... They're averaging 165 and 111 a game respectively...It'll be interesting to see how they do against Huffman....Last year they were pretty good against the run and from what I've heard they are the same or better this year...

For those of us on the outside looking in it seems like a interesting choice of colors (since black is usually the norm) however (regardless of the color chosen) I hope it helps the healing process and the family deal with the financial aspect of this tragedy...

Uh, guys I hate to break it to you but as much as many of us may love reading and posting on this board the number of people from any one fan base that actually post is a very small percent.....To suggest that a few posters (probably less than 10 on any given thread) speaks for or represents a entire fan base as a whole is nonsense...

[/quote] Coldspring ranked 1 in 3A Houston area pre season by the chron, only noticed this because behind Sealy and 2 other schools Liberty was ranked 5th, so I would say a first place pre season rank is pub from the Chron  ::) [/quote] I'm aware of the preseason previews....I was talking about stories or capsules of regular season games...There is usually only a score..(until playoff time)...I've seen other 22-3a game recaps, etc., but not much on Coldspring....Location is probably the biggest factor, however, if there is a team as good as Coldspring within your reader and delivery area I'd expect there to be a little more coverage....

[/quote] I'd tend to agree with you...I've never understood why the kids who put in the same kind of hard work and committment (as the 1st or 2nd stringers) are expected to give less than their best when it comes time for them to take the field and have their moment to shine in front of friends and family... One of the many lessons athletics can teach a player is how to deal with adversity...What do you do when everything that you've practiced and trained for goes exactly opposite of what you had hoped? Do you roll over and give up or do you continue to play hard and practice a little harder in hopes of getting better? There's absolutely nothing wrong with someone being bigger, stronger or faster than you during a competition...It's a mere fact of life..We're not all the same...Our differences are what makes each of us unique.. Another lesson learned in athletics is that sometimes your absolute best IS NOT going to be good enough and that's just how life is...Sometimes you'll do your absolute best and things will still not turn out the way you want...The key will then become how you chose to deal with the setback and if you will choose to continue to give your best when it might be easier to do otherwise... Life certainly doesn't slow down or let up just because you might personally be in a bad place or time... Sometimes I think we may actually being doing our youth somewhat of a injustice by trying to control exactly at what point it is and isn't ok do to your absolute best...If you choose to play a sport you have to know that it's a possibility (that if you run into someone alot better than you) that the score and game might get out of control....I don't think there is anything wrong with getting blown out by a much better team if you're giving your absolute best...Stuff happens...
