Look if anybody wants to know how I feel about polls or rankings all you have to do is read my posts about them.....but I would like one of you ex-spurts to tell me why maxpreps rankings are so bad?  :o

Nice to look at but at the end of the day they don't mean squat.

Just to warn you octfeb, you will get a bunch of posters that are going to try and tell you that maxpreps is garbage... ;) I guess they have a right to their opinion.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I will say I think if Green is 100% he could be the difference maker in this one.  Both teams look fairly equal on paper (I know games aren't played on paper):D  I have to give Central the edge on the defensive side of the ball. The biggest difference I see in these two teams is points allowed, and that goes to Central.....either way this should be a good game with both teams coming out of the gate ready to play and eager to make a statement.

One of the great things about this Vidor team is you can't measure the heart of these young men, more than one of the leaders of this Pirate team play both sides of the ball, and it takes special young athletes to make big plays on both sides of the ball and we are fortunate to have them.........Go Pirates

PN-G has the most balanced offense in 20-4A they have been putting up pretty good yards on the ground and through the air. Livingston has a rush offense second only to Vidor in 20-4A and has been putting up some numbers through the air as well. It will come down to turnovers and which defense can make the biggest stop when they have to, should be a barn burner.

Polls are fine, but I think you have to wait until the 4th or 5th game of district to really get a feel of where these teams are in relation to a playoff run......imo.

The Pirate O/L has been playing lights out, our defense has been getting better each game especially our pass rush, and the secondary has improved. I could point out what I think needs to improve, but they hear that from the coaches. Nobody really knows how this game will turn out. Keys to this game will be whoever has the most T and T's.  ;D

Good article on a great young man, I just hope he stays healthy. This Pirate team is full of young men like Mr. Quirante that understand the concept of teamwork, it's the fuel that has propelled the Pirates to a 3-0 start and they've just begun to hit the accelerator.  :)

My family and I were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of this tragic accident there is no pain more far-reaching and deeper than losing a child. My heart and prayers go out to the families.

Excuse me for offending peoples delicate sensibilities but Ned. may not be the only 20-4A deity that falls from their oh so favored perch after an encounter with the Pirates.  :o  ;D I very seriously question the statement that Vidor's 3-0 start has made them the darlings of 20-4A football. In my opinion it's the exact opposite feeling...I believe it irritates some folks that Vidor has a 3-0 record going into district. I've heard all kinds of excuses for Vidor's wins from.....the weather to a weak non-district schedule to you name it.... as for the fans being able to do anything about Vidor's success in district all we can do is support them to the best of our ability, the rest is up to the coaches and the players......although I guess we fans could click our heals together and repeat....there's no place like the playoffs, but then we'd all make the post season right. Regarding the bandwagon suggestion.....these kids are firm believers in themselves so it makes no difference who jumps on or off.
