1. [Hidden Content] Go Pirates!!!  ;D
2. As far as I know Bolinger is ready to play, I don't know why the statement was made that he is a likely no-go.

It was a joke. Calm down. I have nothing but respect for Faircloth.
It may have been a joke the first few times you did it. Now it is just in bad taste. DUDE! ::)
Don't worry about him badndn, I have a couple friends from Vidor who know him and say he's the village idiot.
It takes a man to call someone an idiot to their face, but any coward can do it hiding behind a keyboard.
5. I'd say the Jimmy and Joe concept is more true at the Collegiate or Pro levels since everyone has a solid coaching approach, but at the high school level it's about working with what you have and developing what you have. There is no secret potion out there. If you work hard and develop mental toughness, strength, and speed in your player then teach your system; you will put yourself in a situation to win games. You have to build your own Jimmies and Joes. I mean, you have to have good players, but as a coach it is important that you teach those jimmies and joes "how" to do what it is you expect and get them to compete at a high level. Otherwise you have a bunch of underachievers. Coaching is motivating a kid to want to do his best and compete in everything that he does, on the field and off the field. Coaching is staying current with the players, trying to tie in football or whatever you coach into things that are relevant to them. But still being authoritative and giving them a good kick in the pants when needed. Players are the ones that run and execute the plays, you can have the best players in the universe with the best play drawn up known to man. But if you can't teach them and gain that connection with them then no one will ever know that they're good players. There is NO shortcut to motivating high school kids to develop as athletes and football players. It is a huge investment of time and energy to motivate these kids to take advantage of the opportunities that are offered to them to improve as athletes and football players. Hard work in the weight room is going to help kids improve their athletic ability, more specifically, their size, strength, speed, and agility. Hard work in drills is going to help kids improve their football-related skills both in general and specific to their particular position. Until we have more coaches believing this to be true, we're going to continue to have schools on the quest for the magic bullet scheme.  So you have to develop your players during the off-season. That's when you win games. Not during the season. Too many people on this board think it's a certain O or D. While we're talking Jimmies and Joes let's not confuse great athletes with great football players. You don't need to have an OL made up of 6'5" 280 lb. D.1 prospects. You can be really good with a bunch of 5'10" 220 kids who are strong, smart, and technically sound. We've all seen great HS QBs who are too short for D.1 and great HS RBs who run a 4.8. You need good players but the key word is "players". You can be really good without a collection of "prospects".
6. Great season Pirates....now lets get ready for an historic playoff run.
7. Hats off to the undefeated Nederland Bulldogs, you guys fought hard to get to the top of a tough as nails 20-4A. Wear that crown proudly....you earned it.
8. Is Bolinger starting for the Vidor??

10. I know it would be better vengeance wise for Vidor to beat Crosby but in yall's opinion who would Vidor match up best against? Crosby or Baytown Lee? Thanks guys. Sounds great.  8)
11. Congrats to the Indians for the win in a very intense game....you guys deserve your playoff spot. The Pirates came out flat which is what I was afraid of after the highly emotional week they had just been through. I'm proud that they didn't give up but fought back and put themselves back in the game in the fourth quarter. Pirates hold your heads high you have the pride and support if this town behind you. Indians you guys played strong last night and gave an outstanding effort, you were in a do or die situation and you came out and did what you had to do....props to the boys in purple.
12. Go Pirates.... ;D
13. The Pirates and the Indians are going into this game with a lot of confidence in their team. This will be a huge road test for the Pirates to slow down an offense that avg. 35 points a game, that can score quick and has good skill kids. The Indians on the other hand have struggled to stop the run and will be facing a Vidor team that will line up and try to run over you and take three or four yards, then do it again and again. The key for Vidor coming off a very emotional week with the loss of teammate Matt Thomas is to stay focused and play their game. The key for PN-G is to get into the end zone against a stingy Vidor defense, they seem to have the weapons to do that.....but we will see. Good luck to both teams.

18. What a great expression of brotherhood....thank you #63 for representing the Jag community.
19. Coach Barbay was a Texas High School Coaching Legend....I think his real lasting monument is the one that he built in the life's of all the kids that he coached and Influenced in his time in Newton.
20. I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support demonstrated by the folks of SETX in regards to the passing of Matt Thomas, thank you for honoring Matt in so many ways, in your prayers that have sustained us as a family and a community, in your generosity of time and treasure that has eased an already unbearable burden. Thank you for reaching out and coming along side this community, for entering into our lives and listening, talking, laughing and crying with us, I was reminded again that God uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways to embody his love........God bless SETX.
21. [Hidden Content] The family, friends and loved ones of Matt Thomas will lay his body to rest today but his memory will live on in the hearts of those that had the honor of knowing him. I think I can say without fear of contradiction that no person who had the privilege of meeting Matt ever came away from that encounter unimpressed. Matt had the rare ability to grab your heart right away he was a young man who was comfortable with himself, open and unpretentious, a yes sir, no sir type, and when you were around him you recognized that this was a young man of character that had been raised right. I'm blessed to have had the chance to have known Matt and to have had him in our home, my entire family has been forever changed by knowing Matthew Eugene Thomas.
22. Thank you all for honoring the life and memory of Matt, all one had to do was spend 5 min. with this young man and you knew he was special, he just had a way of drawing you in and making you fell like you had known him your entire life. The impact that he had on this town and the lives that he touched can never be measured........Go rest high on that Mountain Matt.
23. [Hidden Content] So very, very sad.  :'( :'(
24. A Vidor Pirate football player was killed this morning. A wonderful young man lost his life, prayers needed for his family, the team and this town. [Hidden Content]
