How do you prove that kind of statement, do you know the training or stamina, or strength of each player on the teams Vidor has played, can you prove they are more athletically gifted than the the other players? The Pirates have played some teams with winning records and some teams that don't have winning records this season and there were athletes on all those teams....young men that do well in more than one sport. So to state that Ozen is the most athletic team the Pirates have played so far is just an opinion...not a fact. Fact is Vidor has played teams that are fast i.e.,Tx. High, Kirbyville has speed. Here are some more facts for ya...Vidor has the best defense as far as yards and points allowed, Vidor has better offensive numbers than Ozen...the only advantage that Ozen has is passing yards. 

I haven't seen Ozen play but on paper they look good, they've had tremendous success this year in district and should play solid football at home. Green is a very accurate passer, Nelson has great hands, Jones is putting up good yardage. The defense went into LCM and held them to 13 points which is impressive. Both teams are avg. about 25-30 points a game, Vidor is giving up an avg. of 17 points a game, Ozen is giving up around 22 points a game. Should be a close game, we'll see if the Pirates can get a win in their inaugural game at the Butch.

Great win for the Pirates, imo Vidor had to win this game to keep their confidence as a team, didn't get to make the game but definitely glad they came away with the win.

[/quote] The Pirates played one heck of a game unfortunately they didn't come away with a win. Nederland did what they had to do when it counted, congrats to them on the win. Powell #16 led the offense with confidence and precision and showed great poise under pressure and he made the key play of the game in the 4th qrt. The defense played well especially the secondary. Great effort by the Pirates to go into Ned. and show them what they are made of. Sadly we did have an injury in the backfield which took away our outside threat but that happens in this game, the coaches made adjustments and the Pirates gave a great effort and played their hearts out and they left nothing on the field. Keep your heads up boys, put this one behind you and focus on the next game.
