Bringing this thread back up.
Since HJ is on bye this week I'm pretty tempted to go watch WOS v HF. Seeing HJ play HF last week I must say that the Longhorns surprised me.
We'll see if they can surprise WOS this week.

Whoever wins this HJ/WOS matchup, I know each team will play their guts out. Both teams will be looking for the rematch in the quarter finals!

89 falcon, I bet you wake up every morning and look into the mirror and really hate the person you are looking at! You constantly have negative comments about WOS and several other schools! What is your problem! It's so obvious you are a WOS hater, get a life!

Thank you for the correction, but now allow me to point out something. Yall had 182 yards on the ground for the night. 45 on 1 run and another 43 by your qb which were gained on busted pass plays not designed runs. That leaves a running game of 94 yards divided amongst 4 backs. If yall are happy with that then thats great. You have to underatand , we are used to 300-400 yards by our backs until we played yall. Your team won and I congratulate you. Good luck going forward.

I'm not saying the game wasn't close! The game was tied at the half. It was very close. You think every person on the HJ side wasn't sweating bullets coming down to the end? Heck yeah we were! But, I definitely didn't think OF could come back from a THREE touchdown deficit, and I was correct. It was simply too much. You also seem to have forgotten the 70 + yard drive that ended in 8 points. I think HJ pretty much dominated the Cats there. Yes, the muffed punts hurt you, and HJ took advantage. If OF was such a great team, they would have worked on not having those issues that led to the muffed punts. The thing about IF's is that they can be argued in circles. I think HJ could have gone the length of the field and scored had the punts not been muffed. Heck, maybe it was a good thing that they were muffed becuase HJ showed that they can run one back against you! Who's to say it doesn't happen again? HJ was the better team. IF a few things don't happen for both sides, I still think HJ comes out on top. Maybe it's a slaughter, maybe it's not. The things happened they way they did and nothing you and I say is going to change it. Do I think HJ will beat West Orange? I think they have a shot! Absolutely I do, and I'm very eager to see how it plays out. Would I be surprised if HJ loses? Not at all. HJ is going to go to the playoffs, regardless of the outcome of that game. For all we know a loss may help them as far as playoff placement. HJ has a really good team this year and has proven that. When I was in high school we played awful teams and still lost. They play up and win and still have doubters. Am I surprised? No. It's still HJ and it's still WO-S and the track record has shown this game to be another W under West Orange's belt. OF is a lot better than they have been in the past and I am not trying to take that away from them. However, I won't sit idly by and have people post about how HJ really isn't that good after they have beaten every team they have faced this season! I have never gotten on here and spouted "just because" crap. I have always provided reasonable logic as to why I think things are going to happen or why I think they happened and I'll tell you right now I am not delusional like others are on here. I have been very respectful in every aspect on this message board, even when others were not so much. Now some HJ fans just like to stir the pot because they finally can, but don't act like every other school in the entire state doesn't have those fans. I'll end by saying good luck to Orangefield because you certainly have your work cut out for you Friday night.

At this point, the 2 losses are not an issue. Coach T's first year (2012 i believe) we started 0-3 or 1-3.

As for as the Newton game it's just a simple overconfident on the kids part.I think RF had the same problem.You have to start with that eye of the tiger sort of thing before the battle begins.You find that you are in a battle you are not mentaly prepared for and it is usualy to late.Newton knew what kind of efffort it was going to take to beat the Mustangs and they were ready.

State championship? Are you high?

Read an article on Beaumont enterprise website about the Eagles and I think Coach Johnston hit it on the nose with his comments. I sit in the stands every Friday and listen to all these so called coaches in stands gripping and complaining about everything thinking they know so much. Newton has been winning for a long time with these same coaches and it's worked for many years the kids need to get out of the stands and do what they told or it will be a long season.

Been a couple years since I posted (lol) but I had to come on and say this regardless if Newton gets beat by 50 or wins by one there is still not two better teams in the last 30 years IMHO. I expect Newton to forget their record and how bad the season has gone thus far and play a good game. On a side note I still see them winning district and going deep in playoffs!! :))))

Don't give up on us just yet, if we can weather the WOS storm without injuries we will be ready come district, and also see where we really stand in our divison come the CC game, our playoff tradition will still continue.

You guys are missing the point I believe. He is not saying this team is world beaters or anything, he was stating in his opinion ( and we all have one) that this group of kids are fun to watch and they believe in themselves which is something Orangefield has lacked in recent years. Our backs are against the wall sometimes with lack of numbers compared to other schools in our district or use to be district. Josh Smalley and his staff does a wonderful job with the talent that is available and the kids respond well to him. Stability is the key to a lot of things. Every school has lean years in the golden triangle except one and that is the WOS mustangs. Lord help us if they ever do. LOL!!!!! The lynch mob will be out. :D  Give this guy a break he is just loyal to his team like the rest of you are to yours.

First of all congrats to the young lady, to whom all things are asked through the son to be heard by the father. If this world comes down to a young lady understanding where her strengths and faith comes from, then i take stand next to her. Yes there are many types of religions, but to the person asked to give that praise gave you hers. With all the negative of killings,drugs,and gangs we shining negative light on a beautiful prayer. I can't speak for the rest of the Pirate faithful, but I really appreciated the applause after the young lady who led the invocation ended it with "in Jesus name." I try not to be political on the board but I do believe the vast majorityof Texas high school football fans are made to bow to the wishes of the very few.

That interception by Rhone was spectacular. Was huge, had Martin (6) caught it, we would have likely scored... He was all by himself and Rhone seemed to fly to pick that ball off.... It was under thrown, but not many HS players could have made that play.

I know you're passionate about your school and I can respect that. I'm not a WOS guy, my kids don't go there, but I know a lot of mustangs. Success sometimes spoiled you I guess. But if you can't appreciate the level of coaching you have at that school, I can't help you. It's not like the best athletes in SETX only reside in orange/west orange. You are a small 4A school and would beat the britches off of any of the Beaumont schools IMO. Why? Coaching!!!

I'm not understanding what the truth is?  WOS has made the Quarterfinals 3 years in a row coming up against a once in a lifetime State Champ Navasota and held State Champ Carthage to their closest game of the entire season last year in the only loss. I think that's an opinion not truth.

I find it very funny that atheists try to force there religion upon Christians and its not wrong, but if Christians want to attend school and learn about Christ independently with teachers it is a MAJOR problem. I'm glad I went to a private school and could worship my Savior at all times without being ridiculed. Next there gonna say pre game prayers should be abolished. I stand with HJ, seperation of church and state is INTENDED to mean no State run religious organization, i.e. The Church of England. It is not intended by our founding fathers that religion be excluded from schools, ten commandments taken out of government buildings, etc.. We are, have been, and hopefully will be ONE NATION UNDER GOD. Stop the political correctness. If ONE person gets offended we have to change the name of our sports teams and so on. It's time to make a stand and get back to our core values. As long as no child was being forced into this organization there should not be a problem with it.
