Perhaps the Central fans are not on here celebrating making the quarterfinals and being CO-champs of the district....They KNOW that its really not that big of a deal...perhaps... ::)
But, then again, just as you are entitled to say what you want to say, aren't the Nederland fans entitled to think what they want to think and say what they want to say without somebody condescendingly saying/inferring that they know not about which they speak.  You mentioned how your father and Luke Jackson Sr. play golf frequently.  I imagine if either one of them shoots within 7 or 8 strokes of par, they will consider that a great accomplishment.  In the world of high school basketball coaches it will be.  Does that mean, then, that Lazeek, who is a teaching pro, should come on here and tell them they have really not done anything and it is wrong for them to view that as an accomplishment?
 2.
You should change your name to "Bipolarnash" ....
I might consider that if you will change yours to Airustodul or eyenstine
 3. I dont believe you can count scrimmages in pre season
 4.
Rings doesn't apply to this, Nash know that Silsbee is the only team that's capable of beating HJ, that's why he dislike them....
Every team still playing is capable of beating HJ.
 5. The guy in the grey shirt right behind the net used to dunk the same way when he played for HJ.
 6.

Stevenash, I prefer you to not comment on any of my post, I've seen Splendora play many of times this year and I stay in that area so mind your own business and stay on HJ bandwagon cause you don't know nothing about basketball !!!!
You're saying He knows nothing about Basketball,  or Nothing about Splendora Basketball??
Both are correct.  Sometimes it is an advantage to know what you dont know.
 7.
Other teams have gone two playoff rounds...no celebration from them... ::)...I understand what you are saying, but the Ned fans are relentless! 8)
Dicky- In reference to the above, if, in your next coaching job your team goes through two playoff rounds, can we be extremely confident you (or yours) will be totally silent about it?  As for relentless, that is just another quality of those who are determined to succeed and, as Tiger Woods proved, success is not the exclusive property or birthright of any person or entity..
 8.
Well they ARE taking FOUR teams these days.... ::) ::) ;D
Unless Kingwood Park finished fourth in their District, none of those still alive were fourth place finishers
 9.
SteveNash maybe he has seen them play before? I'm sure you have seen more than just HJ play right?
Yes I have seen some other teams play but I havent seen any other team play enough to be able to tell you if they played their best game of the season.  I would have to have seen most if not all of them to be able to give a credible opinion.
 10. Just did a quick check ( not a complete one) and Hj has played 5 teams that are still in the playoffs and3 of them are 4-a schools and it would have been 4 if Jacksonville had not lost to Lancaster in triple overtime playoff game.  Either HJ schedule is not as bad as portrayed or playoffs are full of "patsy" teams.
 11.

According to some, the fact that HJ beat them means you dont need any info because Hj "didn't play anybody". From my perspective, they will be an interesting foe for you because I view them as equally athletic as the Jags.
Equally athletic?  Interesting. What about their size?  King and Brenham were just as athletic as us as well, but we had the size and length advantage.
If my memory is correct, Central should be a little larger overall than KP.
 12.
I don't understand why there has to be comparisons of Yates to Nederland. Yates is better than many, many, many teams, not just Nederland. This does not mean that Nederland is not a good team. I don't see the point in comparing Nederland or any other team in SETX to Yates. Yates is better than 90-95% of all the teams in the state of Texas. It's pointless to make those comparisons and it doesn't take away from what Nederland has and still may accomplish.
Because doing so was the means to discredit and/or minimize notable accomplishments of a team and coach that has engineered a major turnaround of an heretofore mediocre basketball program. That effort came about because there are some people who believe that being the best in a certain district is a birthright and cannot be attained by others( a few might view it as professional envy)  I agree with you.  There was no need for it in the first place.  The fact that they are still playing says all one needs to know about them being a good team.
 13. According to some, the fact that HJ beat them means you dont need any info because Hj "didn't play anybody". From my perspective, they will be an interesting foe for you because I view them as equally athletic as the Jags.
 14. Best wishes to Soulja, Central, and the Dunk-o-meter for success Tuesday night.  I am simply amazed how these two teams, both of which were a part of HJ's "patsy" schedule are still alive in the playoffs a level above HJ.
 15. Judgin by your board name, it would appear that you are a Silsbee fan.  If that is the case, how would you have any earthly idea whether or not Splendora played their best game of the season?
 16.
When will we know a time and place for this matchup???
Last time we played Navasota in playoffs, it was at Willis.  Don't be surprised if that is a repeat.
 17.
Coldspring's center and big forward gets +/- 10 blocks per game. If it is a tight called game the coach pulls the center way to ealy. If the Coach pulls one of them due to a tight called game, then Coldspring has trouble pulling the win out. Splendora stayed within 15 points the first time due to a tight called game but lost by 30 when we was allowed to play the next time. If they let them play we win due to steals and physical defense. I know Silsbee had trouble with Splendora's physical play for rebounds and their shots getting blocked. We are more physical than them. Coldspring +6 and a long ride home for Silsbee.
Did they have any common opponents during the season?
 18. There are more than an adequate number of threads dealing with the playoff games exclusively.
 19. Because the "d-1 coaching market" does not consider either one of them a "must have" and I would suggest to you that this particular market is a lot more intelligent about coaching abilities than somebody posting on SETX sports.  And, of course, at d-1 level, most recruiting advantages/disadvantages disappear and the playing field is considerably more level.
 20. If Wise is that special as a coach, why isnt he in a D-1 program somewhere?
 21. Anybody know if Soulja has been bringing the Dunk-o-meter ( How redundant!!!!) to the Central playoff games
 22. I would say a metropolitan area with millions of people has a decided advantage.  I would further guess that youngsters in said metropolitan areas have organized youth programs available to them even if it not called little dribblers.
 23.

Let's turn the whole question around.  Someone with knowledge of Yates program (maybe BD or DV) please explain how Yates is able to do what they do? Obviously great players, but in more detail, how is Yates able to dominate the way they do?  Is there a rule in HISD that allows players freedom to choose their school?  I have no idea, just honestly asking how is Yates so dominant?
I got this one DOVE...See in HISD kids are allowed to choose where they attend school as a 9th grader...There is no rule that states kids can't go to Yates! However, once you go to that school, THAT becomes your HOME SCHOOL...Coach Wise has built a great program over there, so naturally, if you are an aspiring basketball player, Yates would be an attractive option these days...As a parent, would you want your kid to play at Yates for a Coach like Greg Wise or at No Name High for an Offensive Coordinator chosen to coach basketball because its one mile closer to your house? That makes the choice easy...Build it and they will come...Yates does NOT recruit...Its that simple.
So, if you are in Houston, you can choose any school you wish to choose beginning in the 9th grade.  IF this is not the case in most other areas, would you consider that to be sort of an unfair advantage for the kids in Houston?
 24.

Dickie V.. Here is why Nederland fans dont like you.. You have called our team out for not being that good and talking down on 20-4A.. You can speculate all you want, but as of right now, Nederland is still playing after two playoff wins and 3 teams for 20-4A are still in the play-offs.. Those are facts.. You dont like it, sorry for you feeling that way.. We are fully aware of the talent out there and that awaits in region 3.. Yates is one of the best teams in the state regardless of classification.. We are focused on taking it one game at a time, and so far Nederland, Central, and Ozen have done just that.. Go sip the hatorade somewhere else
Dogs 1218, here is why I dont care: The fact is Nederland is NOT that good..They have beaten two teams in Dayton and Magnolia that are worse than they are..FOUR TEAMS make the playoffs these days, so yeah they are bound to run into a team or two with less talent....Ozen and Central are more talented teams, and have beaten better teams than that thus far in the playoffs..Props to them and Nederland...I am not hating, I am just stating what should be the obvious...Good Luck against Ozen Tuesday...I pick Ozen...for obvious reasons...hate it or love it...I don't care.
And what about the enhanced betting offer?
