I want to play!! Though I haven't picked up a club since August. >:( :( I'll bet but will need some strokes. ;D
I will pass that on to Lazeek and Sleepy in case they dont see this post.
Sleepy may need strokes.  Beat him by 6-7 shots on Sunday!!! ;) ;)
I have a small hunch that on a course where neither of you has played recently that you are probably not going to beat sleepy by 6-7 shots
Which bet do you want to get in on?  I seem to be handing out $ to plenty of people, no reason to  omit you.
i want 10 to 1 on a $100 bet that HJ beats Navasota by exactly 4 points.  what do you say?
I would say you are covered.  Now all we have to do is hope/wait that they meet next playoff season for a 6th time.

It has been quite an amazing ride. I know that the success will continue into the future. Congrats to the Ozen Panthers on the quarterfinal win. coach Saveat took a nearly impossible job (following a legend) and is putting his own stamp on the program. Best of luck to the Panthers in the regional tournament.
Doesn't this make 2 straight Regional Tournaments?  That's impressive.
I think so, particularly when it comes from a program that was really down.  But others, for some reason, don't care to acknowledge it as a meaningful accomplishment.

 7. Santa- How about this-  If Silsbee and HJ both make it to the final and  ifthat final would be played in the afternoon on Saturday- how about that much discussed golf match with you, Lazeek, and Sleepy? Play at Ravens nest Saturday morning and I will  pay your greens/cart fees.  How about it?
 8.

Surely you are not suggesting that a coach knows more than the players?  Also, using the coin flip theory, there is also no reason to shy away from a three just because you have missed three, right?
If I missed 3 3-pointers, I would be looking for a different way to contribute to the team effort.  I've seen gunslingers continue to throw them up until they hit, and personally I disagree with that.
I would do the same, but according to the "coin flip statistical model", if you are a three point shooter and miss three, you have the same chance on the next attempt as you would if you had made three .  But if you did as you said and looked for alternate ways to help, are you not confirming that there are factors involved that cannot be quantified by statistics?
 9. I suppose that is possible but am pretty confident the issue is of an "attitudinal" nature.  And one more thing, I would strongly advise you not to be offering to compare bank statements with other posters on here.  Somebody might just take you up on that.
 10.
Man, forget that.  The dunk is important.  Bosha and Johnson should have been driving down the lane and smashing on people and look at them when they walk away! 8)
Not much chance of that against that stable of athletes.  There were a couple of instances where that could have happened but the HJ players were knocked to the floor.  Prudhomme being in foul trouble also diminshed the chances.

Fellas, please get back in your respective corners lol. I'd like to go to a Nederland/Ozen thread just one time and actually read about Nederland and Ozen. There's so much to say to "DV", about "DV" and from "DV", start a thread about "DV" PLEASE (heck that thread would probably cause a malfunction to this site). Congratulations to Nederland for all of their accomplishments and good luck to Ozen in the next round (we're going to need it). And again this is only IMO!!!!!!!  Ok I'm off my soapbox now, my apologies  :)
No sir..Don't want a thread about ME!!  ;D...Somehow though when I post about ANYTHING, posters have a tendency to steer it that way...I just talk basketball... ;)
Why do you think the above happens?  Did some of these people gather somewhere and say, "let's find a poster that we don't like and try to cause him as much trouble as possible"?  Or could it possibly be that you might have something to do with it?  Who else are they going after besides you?  If we can find another person that they treat the same way, it will be fairly easy to come up with a reason.
 12. If you are #1 in the state and have lost just one game (which was a warmup), there is not much chance you will be underestimated.
 13. Surely you are not suggesting that a coach knows more than the players?  Also, using the coin flip theory, there is also no reason to shy away from a three just because you have missed three, right?
 14. I know- and because of the reliability of that- I plan on using my "connections" to tell Devante and Ziori that if they hit 3 in a row, dont worry about running the offense, just shoot it when you get it because we already know what the results will be.
 15.
Stevenash, I was REALLY just going against the grain, because of the situation they had been put in...HONEST..I knew they were the ONLY team with a half of a shot to win, but without their head coach, and all of the turmoil, I KNEW what was going to happen...I really did...it wasn't a hard pick, I just threw that out there...They can say what they want, but I was reall BEING A GOOD SPORT about last night, and congratulating their team on a good year...NO matter how they try to say I talked about them, I MEANT what I posted last night...I didn't run in anybody's face or taunt them last night, because I knew they were feeling bad...Why rub it in? But they certainly TRIED to stab ME this morning...Wonder why I dig at them so bad? I think they WANT me to!  ;)
If you believe your final sentence, why dont you get the "ultimate revenge" and not do what you think they want you to do?

However, I can not except quitting on the team, it was obvious that is what happened tonight.  Playing a player significant minutes that had not played since the YMBL. Stating your best big for the a great deal of minutes including the entire third quarter. Going small after Christian was ejected, getting out rebounded 11-1 on that call going from 8 down to 18 down purely on rebounds. If u quit u should resign, I know he has to feed his family but that was piss poor. quitting on the kids is un acceptable. I lost ALL respect for Lee tonight. The kp coach did one heck of a job, no true talent but they do exactly what he says and it works, great job kp.
You get what you pay for. Central and Ozen both wanted Joubert for nothing.
What do you mean they wanted him for nothing?  Are you sure the main issue of contention did not have something to do with how many press conferences could be held?
 17. Dicky- Have you considered the idea that the gentleman feels that one congratulatory comment( appearing to be only because the outcome was the one you projected) sandwiched between a gazillion condescending quotes may be a little out of balance?  By the way, I never heard you say much after the results came in on your Yates-Wheatley prediction.  In fact, those very same crickets seemed to be around.
So you are saying that in the last few games of the regular season and the first couple of games in the playoffs, you had no quarrel/complaint with the coach but as soon as he loses, you lose all respect?
I think it has to do with the talent.  The talent carried us to the 3rd round.  I've always had questions about coaching all year with the exeption of a few games.  I wasn't at the game vs. Kingwood Park, but I stayed in touch via Text message with ABSENT.  I've sat with him in several Central games for about 5 years, and I trust his game analysis.
The further forward you move in the playoff, the greater the talent level that you will likely be facing.  I realize that we talk a lot on this board about Centrals talent and rightfully so.  But in each successive game, I think it is highly likely that a team will encounter someone with equal or greater talent.  I didnt see the game either(but I did watch KP play against HJ at the HJ tourney), but another possible explanation is that you ran into a team that had more talent than you did and more experience in the form of upper classmen.
oKAY, whose keeping count today?
I am....however, strangely enough, STILL getting negative Karma marks!! :o
How can that be?  When one takes into account the consistent respect you have given to these guys, it just doesnt make sense.  I guess we underestimated the strength of that shock factor and you may have to wait a little longer.  What really makes it confusing is the fact that you have never tried to establish yourself as the last word on here(you were merely trying to be "just one of the guys") and you always honor and respect what everyone else has to say.  To paraphrase a famous philosopher who is never wrong: "At the end of the day, you are still Dicky V" (  who only wants to restore order and make things like they are "supposed to be")

 22.
the scariest opponent HJ has faced in quite awhile.  it sure seems like this was the year that the 2nd seed from our district would've paid off.  this game is a coinflip in my opinion.  If HJ plays like they did last night, i imagine we'll be seeing a LaVega/Silsbee regional final.  If they play well, they're more than capable of winning.  I'm actually kind of glad HJ was in a nailbiter last night, because this is likely going to be a close game the whole way through.
I agree bullets.  I am also glad that LaVega walked through their game.

And Connally lost tonight 70-31 to Waco La Vega .. just a few interesting things to point out.
Athens would likely have won the district if the good player they just got back had been playing during the district competition
