Sounds to me like KP had a good game plan. Yates played poorly because of this....NO couldn't be...Yates just played horribly ::) :'( :'( Give me a break
I think that some of you just like to argue.. ::)...I SAID KP HAD A GREAT GAMEPLAN...I give them credit, but its still a loss...Some if you act like they actually BEAT Yates! Sorry, but moral victories do not allow your team to advance in the playoffs.... 8)
Which reinforces the thought that Yates is not the invincible machine you painted them to be.

Yates played about as bad as a team could play but WAS NEVER down in the game....They will represent region 3 in 4A in Austin next week....They will blow Jones out tomorrow...KP fought hard, no question, but they could play Yates 10 times and lose all 10.
C'mon, Dickie. You sound like so many other whiners on this board when full expectations are not met. Yates doesn't have bad games . . . you know that. It's not allowed in their charter. So, according to you, they played as badly as they ever have in the history of Yates - but, they were never behind. Here's a new deminsion that has never been been a contention of your before. But now, after a team throttles the great Yates and manages to hold them to a 7 point winning margin, all you can muster is Yates had a horrible game and they were never behind. That's really not very sportsman like. At some point you really need to recognize the outstanding effort of your opponent. I bet that your Dad never had a problem recognizing good play by an opponent. :( :(
Tigersvoicer= UDAMAN

Yes, they obviously did and they deserve credit for that. For a few, they believe that things should always be a certain way such as the Yankees r the only baseball team that is eternally great, only ozen can win district basketball etc etc etc. Big world out there and nobody is the exclusive owner of anything
. They aren't (according to you) supposed to ever get close, let alone lead-u aren't getting away with this one. Lets get the state Championship next year.
not in 3-A ;)
. For sure. Yates documented ther invincibility tonite
Yates was never in trouble in this game as bad as they played.
. Never said they were in trouble and both of u still unwilling to give the opposition credit- sorry but the superhuman label does not apply

Dominating , overwhelmingly superior teams that r invincible are that way because they don't have bad games against supposedly very inferior teams. If they are what you have implied, they would have won by 25 in a bad game. I saw them play Wheatley and they are human- I know I know. The excuse for that one was missing personnel and now we have the bad game excuse-pretty convenient
-
You are compromising your credibility dicky. Kingwood proved Yates is not invincible and there is no rationale that can alter that. It happened it can't be changed the result is there
-
I would give silsbee the edge unless lavega post man gets real involved in offense
I agree, as bad as Yates played, they stilll won. Yates defense was horrible. They had a bad game. Most teams have bad games and LOSE!
. And this is where both of u always jump in and say that the other team had something to do with a team (perhaps a Nederland) being horrible. It's no different tonite. The legend simply isn't what you portrayed it to be. Deal with it. Let's see- hj beats kp by 7 but would lose to Yates by 30-40? Hmmmmm
-
I don't care if they won. The results in a big time game speak volumes and not even the dv pedigree can alter that. Tonight proves they are not without vulnerability in spite of your repeated suggestion/inference that they were/are incomparable. It is what it is
Attended that game...Yates shot HORRIBLY from the field yet led from buzzer to buzzer....KP handled the press fairly well but were forced to play fast...KP shot the ball well, and used EVERY INCH of the floor on offense, causing Yates problems...Yates shot and missed wayyyy to many threes....KP fought, just not enough bodies for Yates.
. Hmmmm Dv and dove. I believe your Yates fable no longer as overwhelming as u wanted everyone to believe

What they won't be is big or fast or quick and that will be a problem. Nederland's rise has come at a time when some of the other schools in the area have been down. The general consensus is that Beaumont is about to finally get another big wave of talent. It will be interesting to see how the district plays out the next couple of years. I do think some, not all, Nederland fans are a bit naive about the future. Next year will be another good one with everyone returning. The JV group you guys are hanging your hats on finished 5th this year in the district. The freshman group is solid. The 8th grade group is pretty good. Nowhere in the program, that I've seen, is there a true big kid or a true point guard that can break people down. I hope this isn't offensive. I am really looking forward to see who wins 20-4A next year and in the future. I'm a Port Arthur guy so I tend to want the Beaumont schools to lose to Nederland. Lincoln NEVER did. On another note, good luck to Ozen tonight in Katy.
Good post. I like that; " a wave of talent." Yeah, I think that cycle is coming back around. I agree with your very honest assessment. Nederland has no true big nor a true point guard to break down the defense. Will be interesting to watch.
Doesnt that also apply to this past year where they shared the district title?

Move back towards the middle a bit. Sheez!
You are preaching to the choir. It was me who earlier stated that what Mr. English has accomplished at Nederland is a much larger accomplishment than what several coaches who won state titles did.( But I still believe that the government should not be taking tax money from hard working people in order to give free cell phones to others)
Lets take away The Border Patrol. They're being paid by tax dollars...( It's hi-jack Nash's fault)
To carry the hi-hack theory one step further- why did you and DV convince the Beaumont Enterprise to run full stories on Kountze, Ozen, and Silsbee today and omit HJ?
