"If you build they will follow." I repeat, Yates does not need to recruit. Those kids want to attend the school.
Say it however you wish.  They acquire their players in a manner that is different from everyone with which they compete.  Playing field obviously not level.  No words or rationale will change that.  I believe the original intent behind high school competition was based upon where one lived as opposed to where one wanted to play.

 7.
If Silsbee plays Yates 10 times, Silsbee loses all 10...Now AAW you said yourself that you would "rather not" ever play them again, right? Now in my book, that is the DEFINITION of NO CHANCE at winning against them....No they are not the team they were a few years ago, which would have been WORSE, but they are still just better...at this point.  Do not know what the future teams may bring, but for now, there is NO CHANCE. ;)
You would have said the exact same thing about Minnesota playing against Indiana and you know how that turned out.
 8.
He is a future communication major, just like the 7'4 boy from another country.
No doubt about it.  When he starts his "career" there, a few on this board will claim he is "home grown"
 9.

If he was 'average', then why did teams double/triple team him?
I said a player from Central made him look average. In three games against the Jags he looked anything but "MVP" like. Not knocking the kid or his game. I saw him in three games and he wasn't able to lead his team to victory in any of those. He looked really average in those games I saw. Including one where E'torrian dominated him in the post down the stretch to secure the win for Central. You know like MVPs do!
Just think, if you saw him in three games, you really missed a bunch of other games in which he probably did well.

 11. Give it up.  the collective wisdom/knowledge of the coaches in the district far exceeds that of any single wanna be on this board.  Congrats to Mr. Weisbrod for an obviously well deserved award.

Little dribblers should hire a fundamentals coach.  This coach should be able to teach the kiddos the fine art of shooting a finger touch jump shot.  I also think Silsbee would get better experience by entering some of those Houston tournaments.  That would be better exposure than that tournament in Sherman, Tx.
So, if Silsbee had played in Houston tourney rather than Sherman, they would have had a different outcome with Yates?
Possibly!!!! Whachu try'n to sey Nash ???
I am saying that Silsbee played a very good game against Yates and if their schedule had been altered in any way, it is highly unlikely it would have changed the result against Yates.
Who? Kountze? They might...I mean they ARE in 2A.... ::) ::)...Should make it EVERY year... 8) ( I am really stirring that pot today, aren't I?) ;D
Why is that? We have the same classification size as all other 2A's so what gives us an advantage? I'll wait to hear your response.
Actually I was speaking as you Kountze fans speak...You guys feel that you should be in it EVERY year..and for good reason...And honestly you guys dropping to 2A from 3A is similar to Yates dropping to 3A from 4A...It SHOULD have be a cake walk as it is for Yates.... ::) 8)
That's the most asinine statement you've posted. You can't answer the question as to what gives us an advantage on the 2A level. We don't have millions of kids to pull from for our basketball PROGRAM. When we competed at the 3A level we were actually one of the smallest 3A's competing and we won, yearly, with those numbers.
Ask DV how many kids Kountze has on the team that are from Africa?

What an idiot!!!!
Your MOTHER is an idiot! NOTHING THAT I SAID HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH RACE! Really?  >:(
If I had said the following and referred to the golf or swimming playoffs, Dickie, you would have been all over it about being racist: Come on man...That 4th place playoff spot was designed SPECIFICALLY for the Centrals, the Ozens, the Yates, and the Kashmeres of the world...The UIL was sick of seeing the same non-urban schools in the playoffs and Johnny urban had to only watch...
 20. Come on, Ned.  Maybe we can have another Ozen-Nederland replay.
 21. Hoping the Little Doves advance to the next game.

 25. Ok- So now you are changing it from "most rings" to" most rings in recent years"?  Congrats, Robert Horry, as the greatest modern day player.  Other kudos to Will Perdue for being as good as Shaq.
