Since that gym accommodates all crowds comfortably except for the Silsbee game, I wouls suggest that perhaps the money was well spent.  What would be foolish is to spend additional taxpayer money for one game per season.

Silsbee Varsity will be the favorite tonight. So will the Junior Varsity. However, HJ Freshmen will be huge favorite tonight. And no, the Silsbee JV cannot give the HJ varsity any kind of a game under any circumstance.  Try to stay somewhat realistic.

Not much to talk about.  Silsbee is the overwhelming favorite.

[/quote] Humility has never been my issue....I am often a target on here because I refuse to bite my tongue on certain issues, and I will not let you people discredit what I or anybody affiliated with me has done in the basketball community....especially by people who quite honestly, do not know very much and are just rabid fans..I am being humble just conversing with some of you on here.....Thats all. 8) [/quote] Not true at all.  Nobody has discredited you and/or your "associates".  Many feel you over state your case and you fail to realize that the opinions of others are every bit as valid as yours.  You say you are a target but if you are it is only because YOU MAKE yourself a target.  Whenever a subject comes up that involves praise for someone in the basketball community, you manage to "suggest" that " yeah, thats pretty good, but it can't compare to what I or someone I know has done."  The worst one today took place when you tried to suggest that many of the well respected coaches werent really as worthy as some claimed because they didnt play certain teams in the old days.  That has nothing WHATSOEVER to do with whether a coach was a great coach or not.  Also to suggest somehow that someone who is in 3-a has less coaching capabilities than someone in 4-a or 5-a is truly laughable.  And, for the record, there are a number of weak teams in ALL CLASSIFICATIONS rather than just in the smaller ones.

[/quote] I am offering my opinion ( and I am smart enough to know it is ONLY my opinion and NOT GOSPEL) that what Mr. Stevens has done in recent years is a greater accomplishment than what Tubby has done in recent years and the fact that Stevens does not have a national title has no bearing on the comparison.

ANd Tubby Smith happens to be one of my favorite coaches but I am saying that, in spite of his title, he has not done a better job of coaching than Stevens has.  The OBVIOUS inference (as previously suggested in several other threads) is that there are many great coaches who will never win a title.

[/quote] They are NOT excuses.  They are examples of what Mr. Boutte had to work with.  I want you to convince me that he would have achieved the same results if he had been at Dayton and Liberty instead of Lincoln and Ozen. ( I assume he would have done well but not nearly as well in win loss terms as he would at Lincoln and Ozen.) My original contention was that there are many great coaches who never win a title and I stand by that.  I will also suggest to you that Brad Stevens  has done a better coaching job in recent years than Tubby Smith has.
