D1?  Can't believe what the conservative media writes  8)
Please!!! ::) ::  Look at this site [Hidden Content]; Over half their roster is on the future 150 list..Most are 4 and 5 star players. The system is broke and the uil needs to fix it.
is that the right site? i only saw a few from Texas but they were from other schools.
LOL!! Please do not go by Future 150. Its a ranking site where they rank kids who attend their camps by PAYING and playing. Next example please!!!
the poor inner city kids who couldn't learn in public schools have money for basketball camp?
So, you want them to grow fat and get sick. Get disability benefits?  ::)
::) ::)
Dove_ I think I finally understand this now.  Triple A, Yates and Madison are actually progams whose first priority is to keep kids from getting fat and drawing disability checks.  The competence in basketball was coincidentally a by- product.

 5.
In all the years that I've been going to the tourney I 've never seen a player booed like the kid from Arlington Heights. Saban has his work cut out for him...lol..    Never seen a losing team get a standing ovation and the winning team booed....  The AAU body guards had to settle down a few coaches...lol... Dont think Travis would have made the playoffs if it wasn't for the Harrison twins. Not a complicated offense just spread the floor and let the guard penetrate but good enough for a championship.... The White Oak players looked like they never seen the weight room but it didn't matter....Mumford needs to file assualt charges against the UIL...  lol........The Yates press was not a factor if anything it hurt more than helped.... 2A brought some sanity to the games. Two best games of the tourney.... and God bless Norman at the Super 8.. Paid for my room with cash and overpaid twenty dollars(two twenties were stuck together) Norman comes to my room and explains and hands me the twenty....
Was Bo-Hack with you?

I don't see a huge difference in either programs. yes, AAA has a larger coverage. But YES Prep out of Houston and many other inner city charter schools have the same area coverage and CAN'T COMPETE at a high level.
My guess is that the "legitimate" charter schools who "can't compete" cannot, at this point, because they are in the early developmental stages and have an academic priority as opposed to an athletic one. If the NBA awards a New Franchise to Omaha next year, it will be many years before they are able to "legitimately" compete for a Division or league title.

Same thing in basketball, tennis, ballet, gymnastics, Prime Prep, etc. The gifted & talented should compete against the best. They all happened in 2004, and Ozen STILL WON the district outright, and advanced farther than Vidor did, which was to the regional round losing to eventual state champion Houston Jones...FACT...So what is the point of bringing up the wins against a program that has dominated them FOREVER? Then the 3A  championship pitted the Houston all-stars against the Dallas all-stars.  Oops, sorry, I meant to say Yates vs Madison.  Again, looked like an AAU tourney championship instead of a 3A high shool one.  Great talent on the floor, entertaining game, but again--"two of these things just don't belong here". Look, I am not saying whether these schools break the rules or not; in fact it is very possible that they are smart enough to stay just within the bounds.  But any objective observer can clearly see the difference.  The 2A, 4A, & 5A games looked a lot more like what I would have expected to see.  Competitive high school basketball.  In fact the 2A game might have been the best and most entertaining game.  The UIL needs to decide what it wants to be.  We all have our opinions, and maybe we all can't agree.  But I believe that there will be a lot of heat from coaches, fans, etc after the "show" that was put on in Austin.  It's time to call it what it is, make a decision, and go from here.  At least there should be a serious discussion among the adults in the room about where this is going and what the UIL is all about. I enjoyed the tournament very much because I love basketball, but until you see it live and in person, maybe you won't understand.  The system is broken....
Very good points!
Yes they are Dove  VERY GOOD POINTS
