I do not consider it bad.  Have you seen how they have played the past 2 years.  Those 15 that left needed to go.  I would rather 19 that earned it and willing to put in the work than those cry baby entitlements that are leaving. 

Indicates the respect WOS has for the Newton program.  Perhaps y’all could reciprocate and name something after WOS.  Like Mustang stadium?  Or the street WOS Parkway?  

WOS likes Newton so much that they named the street their stadium is on, Newton Street. At least that is what Google maps says. Address for the stadium is 1400 Newton Street.

Newton got lucky in the Kirbyville game. Refs screwed us. Lol.. 

Gilmer is the best offence team we have faced this year. WO-S is the best defensive team we have faced this year. Both of those teams will go far in the playoffs. I think Gilmer is a better team than WO-S.  Newton will be down next year, but look out in two years when our 8th grade team become sophomores. This is one of the best group of kids that have come through Newton.

I think you should always support your team. But reality is reality.  Call it like it is not like you want it to be.  I'm not necessarily talking about WOS. You can't have the best team every year.  But as far as WOS is concerned I think very few teams can boast the winning consistency they have proven over the past. Haters gonna hate. The faithful will be faithful.  And the haters love to kick you when you're down. WOS will be fine. And you know what opinions are. And this is mine.

This is a bad post. Hope whoever posted this is not from Newton. Newton people know that we cannot beat everyone.

I don't think we can beat Newton THIS year, but we are playing 2 animals back to back. With that said, we haven't taken a beating like that since the 70's. I would expect a good game plan and a good effort Friday night. We will match up better with the Eagles than we did against Carthage. Our kids are proud. They won't take to kindly the whipping they got last week. I believe a closer game is coming than some expect. 

To be quite honest Gilmer may end up in the playoffs.  I'm kinda echoing the sentiment of most other people on here about Gilmer not necessarily having and average year. But in my opinion a good 4a-d2 team should not lose to a good 3a-d2 team. I think Newton is not a good 3a team. They are a very exceptionally great 3a team this year. 

Sorry man I couldn't remember who they were playing I was waiting on someone to start one thanks. Yes it has been a tough road but they have not played mustang football for 4 full quarters against tough competition, winnable games for wos but the cougars , Bulldogs and eagles got it done and we didn't bottom line congrats to each team and goodluck the rest of the year. Now let's get to the juice. Still need to play 4 quarters nothing is a lock. Read our keys and tackle well on defense and move the chains on offense. Woking nights up here in Minnesota is starting to get real chilli. It's hard sitting around waiting on friday nights to hear kogt. They take no pride up here in their high school football up here it's dead. I showed them a picture of Allen football stadium they ask me what college was that and I said that's a high school stadium, they almost passed out. I showed them some highlights of different teams including the golden triangle and they can't enough. I will always show love to my town, and my state. Texas is king in football and I dont mind talking about us at all and they don't mind listening. When I come out of town to work I'm not representing wos I'm representing texas and  when it comes to Friday nights I miss home. Talking with u guys on here helps me stay sane. I love all of u guys on here and we all want the same thing good clean high football fun. Going to Ohio next probably til the end of November. We hung 70 on Carthage about 4 or 5 years ago. What goes around comes around. They seemed to have bounced back from it ok. We will too. 

i hope so, Newton with all of its athletes  hasn't faced a passing team that will do all the picks and rub patterns like Gilmer. I think we should win handily but teams i have never seen tends to make me nervous.

I say the score will compare to the Carthage vs Gilmer. Newton may possibly shutout Gilmer. Carthage could've had more points but coasted the 2nd half. If Gilmers defense doesn't do better Newton will fry the scoreboard. 

Agreed. HD bobcat has a way of rationalizing anything negative with HD, before the game HD was the better overall team , after the game all of the sudden Cushing Texas is the best coached team he’s ever seen in high school football ? Wow . Even his compliments to the other team are back handed comments or rationalizations for HD’s loss. They are good this year and I’m glad for them my dad was all state honorable mention DB for HD in the 80’s my uncle won a state championship in the 70’s with them. But I love to laugh at HD bobcats explanations over the years I can’t help it , at least they’re good now so it’s not as bad but there was a time where they were abysmal and he did the exact same thing , I hate to “attack” someone it’s all fun for me I gotta give it to him he’s the most loyal , and consistent fan for his team on this entire website and he loves his community and his team and the kids that’s awesome and I applaud that but over the last 7 years I’ve been on this site , HD’s opponent , after a loss, was never the better team , there was always something 

Just researched Gilmer.  2-2 and took a beat down to Carthage, but a questionable loss to an average looking Paris team.  I see this being another walk in the park.  Not the Gilmer of old...

WOS, will beat Jasper and Silsbee

Was a good ball game tonite , sitting in the rain and all.
WOS still has two tough games coming up Jasper and Silsbee, They are battle tested and should be fine. Lookong forward to those games. Hope we didn’t come out too banged up from last night.
Crosby has a good football squad. I wish them continued success, as they represent our region. They need to cut out the dumb penalties, that could hurt going forward. They might get beat up pretty bad on holding calls if they run into the wrong zebra crew.

Seems like everyone is full of excuses.  Last week WOS had all sophmores. They where rebuilding. This week Crosby was playing in the rain. WOS gave Crosby everything they could handle.  Crosby is a 5A school with almost three times the kids WOS has. They should beat them every year.  Even if Crosby is having a bad year. They haven't used that excuse yet. But as per WOS they have all sophmores as of last week, and maybe they do. My point is, 5A should beat  small 4A school every year. Stop acting as if you defeated Rome!! 4A should beat 3A. Honestly I believe Crosby has a good team, WOS has played great teams and should have lost by comparative school size. Except to Newton and they are the eighth wonder of the world. As WOS was 2 years ago. I think you should stop making excuses and give credit where it's due. And evaluate your own team fairly. Crosby should have beaten WOS much worse, but they could not, because they aren't good enough. WOS is underated. Which probably a blessing. Keep it real.
