Summer Creek has a lot of talent with the recruitment from Humble High. The problem I see with SC as I watched them 3 times this past year is Discipline. Vidor didn't lose composure and fought hard but once Dayton was trailing they just went ahead and laid down, throw in the arguing amongst themselves and that's what i would call losing composure. [/quote]i have to agree on both of coug14's points. Sc was the first good team dayton saw all year and they rolled over dead. It reminded me of when dayton played crosby earlier in the year.

SC gave up nearly 1000 yds offense against vidor and. GT. Guyer would have scored 60 points. The qb for gt picked sc apart and guyers qb was a stud and would have done the same. Guyer also has a top notch coach to go with lots of talent and high enrollment. Heck they played for the 5a title just a couple of years ago.

While they do have a nice senior class this year they will be average and fighting for a playoff spot in the near future. Im still thinking daytons young team will be a tough game for sc. I just hope both teams are healthy when they play. I dont want any excuses from summer crap.

My friends grandson is the #1 high school baseball prospect in texas this year and could have been a geat addition to his football team but didnt want to risk injury. He is on a different level than kaleeb but denny still has alot to lose if he is injured. I guess each athlete will do what they think is best.

If you looked at the astros roster they should finish the season 0-162 but in baseball sometimes you get the lucky bounce or timely hit. I would say there are probably 20 teams that could beat each other in a given series.

This stuff happens all the time. I heard peyton manning was part of a underground country band while attending Tennessee.  Luckily he made the right decision and the rest is history. Side note. That apparent weed smoking was for medicinal use. Dont be so judgemental

[/quote]First of all the parent has to be honest with themselves which is the majority of the problem with these issues. I have my three sons and two nephews I'm involved with. The oldest is 12 and will be entering middle school and only plays football and basketball. I'll tell you right now he's not a basketball player even though he's going to end up well over 6'. I make sure I clarify that to him also, not in a demeaning way but one in which he comprehends where he stands among other kids his age. My son will tell anybody who asks he's going to play football for LSU or UT and as he's gotten older he's just started to do things to show that. I constantly have to reprimand him for messing with the weights in the garage without  my supervision among other things. All that to say he knows football is his best opportunity to play sports beyond high school. My middle son and oldest nephew on the other hand are the kids that everything they touch they seem to be the best or very near the top at. My nephew's dad was once in the Jamaica national youth soccer program and my sister is 5'11" so to limit or "specialize" him in a certain sport before seeing which one he naturally gravitates to and will voluntarily work harder at is "pushing it" from a parenting perspective IMO. My issue is some parents can't see when their kid "may not have it" yet tell their kids if you work harder than the others "you'll be better and should play" thus creating a disgruntled teammate in the locker room. Good motivation but it really only goes so far. 10-12 is the evaluation period to see what kids are more natural or should "specialize" in IMO. You don't make him stop playing other sports because he's specializing in football but at 12 football starts to take precedence over other sports. Size isn't a determining factor for my boys so 12 is a good evaluation period for ME, if you have late bloomers you might have to wait longer. I think my boy could start to get his first camp invites his sophomore year so the earlier I can get him oiled up the better.  [/quote]if your son is 12 im assuming he is in the 6th or 7th grade. You dont think its a little early to be saying he should be getting ask to invite camps when he is a sophmore.

Dayton was 9-2 last year with losses to sc and ned. While daytin will be very young this yesr they have alot of talent. I think dayton will be 7-3. I can see losses to elkins sc and possibly crosby. Elkins will be very big and athletic and had a fairly young team last year. I think their qb was a sophmore. Sc has alot returning on a very good team. Crosby also has alot returning but dayton always seems to play good enough to beat them.

All i can say is throw them "v"s up.

[/quote] Denny was healthy when he played the Bronco's , He had laid out several games prior to the playoffs and only had one game under his belt after coming back. Just compair the Bronco's and BH's common opponents from last year and even a Bronco can see that the angles landed on the Purple ponies that night in BH ;) [/quote]common opponents. You have to have athletes and coaching to be successful. You can not have a team that wins consistently without both.
