  1. If Dayton is not playing I will definitely be at this game. Tough predistrict game for BH.
  2. I have been very blessed but have family who have not faired so well. This Hurricane will probably go down as the worst to ever hit the Texas coast. Just praying for all the displaced families.
  3. I think that's way more important than a win.
  4. I believe Katy in 2015 only gave up about 4pts a game and had 10 shutouts. Your right though spread offenses have changed what it means to shut a team down. I think holding a team scoreless in this era is much more difficult.
  5. I believe it was the semis and it was 14-9.
  6. That team was crazy. Carthage returned an interception for a td and Dangerfield gave up another 2pts on a safety. Defense never gave up a point. That will probably never be done again.
  7. Now the fact they had the most D1 players or even the most players that went to the NFL is quantifiable. My eyes tell me after watching thousands of high school games though that they were definitely not the best texas high school football team ever. I'm going to make a comparison to a great team in our area. WOS team last year was the best I have seen them produce in a long time. Having said that last years team was not the most talented team I have seen from them if you strictly look at FBS talent. I would also say that even though it was a much lower classification what Dangerfield did in I believe 83 was the most dominant season in Texas high school football ever. Defense didn't allow a TD the entire year. Only gave up 8 pts the entire year and scored over 600. All this to say I totally agree with your comment. Lol
  8. Did make for a good 30 for 30 though. Lol
  9. I could be looking at the wrong schedule for 88 Carter team but if it's correct they won 5 games by 7pts or less and had a tie with Duncanville. If they were the best ever there must of been a lot of teams they played that were absolutely loaded too. 85 Yates was much more dominate in their championship run.
  10. Although in our district teams only play 2 non district games I would say Crosby playing #1 Manvel week 1 would put them up there.
  11. Dillon Bethea. Hope I didn't butcher his name. Played safety for the 07 team that played LT in the semi finals. Even though LT beat us pretty good he had an early pick against Garret Gilbert. Really nice young man.
  12. I agree. They also have an ex Bronco coaching there this year I believe.
  13. Hope they looked good. I'm going to check out a few of their games this year.
  14. I actually think UT wins that game if McCoy isn't hurt on that first drive. Had to play a true freshman in Garrett Gilbert and it was still a reasonably close game.
  15. Won't be the same this year without him. Will say the man went out with style. Without a doubt the most uplifting funeral I have ever been too. I mean playing "I can't get no satisfaction" at a funeral was priceless. Miss ya buddy.
  16. I like that kid at QB. I also like that rb that was a sophomore last year I believe. The kid ran hard.
  17. Nobody is a powerhouse in our district. I think if he can take BH 2 or 3 rounds deep that's pretty dang good. Crosby has been past the 2nd round once since 2009 and I would say they have a pretty good program. I still think BH will be at the top of our district within the next 3 years.
  18. Coached his son in little dribbler all stars. Really nice family and yes the kid is going to be tall. Saw him for the first time in a few years at the Lee Basketball camp and he has really shot up. Point is the Hill will have plenty of talent to be a winning program coming up, great facilities and excellent coaching. Still miss the old Hill though but then again I'm just getting old.
  19. Herndon I believe. Played offensive line. Michael Hendricks was another stud that played at Sterling in the early 90's. He had a ride to Florida State as a tight end I believe and was tragically killed the summer before he left. Any way his nephew was a really nice player for BH last year.
  20. Yes BH has an offensive lineman living in BH that played around 8 years in the NFL. Not sure if his son plays football but he will probably be very tall like his old man.
  21. Congrats to the kid. Blazing fast. Hope he has a breakout year this year.
  22. Fact is we lost 5 kids that will be playing college ball this year and won 4 games. Not D1 players but very few kids even get to play small college ball. Our best receiver from last year will be at UH on a long jump scholarship. Dayton underachieved last year with below average coaching. Dayton will be young this year and not as talented athletically as last year. I do like the rb a lot but if he gets hurt the talent level goes way down at that position. Same at qb I like the Nail kid but he will be running for his life most games and if he gets hurt Dayton will struggle to beat anyone. Very little depth at all on this team. I think 500 would be overachieving considering the district and coaching but I always wish the best for the kids.
  23. It's amazing how fast a great coach can change a program. Both deserve a ton of credit.
  24. Lol. This isn't about Dayton or black athletes it's about a kid that is legit no matter were he plays. You made the comment this particular kid just looks good because he plays for PNG. Just have to call out silly statements. Never seen a black athlete blah blah blah. Come on man.
  25. Not trying to stir the pot just wondering why you think he wouldn't have got a ton of offers if he stayed at KP. I know St Pius has one of the top qb prospects in the state and I agree St Pius is known for big time talent but I'm sure this kid would shine anywhere.
