1. Hopefullt Hardin can pull this one out.  Very young team, getting thrown to the fire early.
2. Congrats Kountze!    Prayers for Laramie from the Dumas family.
3. Kountze should have won by 20, too many turnovers. Crockett is big in size. Anahuac did not play well, Tatum is very athletic.
4. I actually don't mind the mini fros, braids, dreads, if they are kept neat. I would not like the long braids, since they could pull on them when the ref isn't looking.  But if this is a rule that the head coach has made, my son would abide by it.
5. Thinking I just might make that Kountze game.    :)
6. Exciting game. Hardin was down by 9, went with a 2 freshman, 2 soph, 1 junior rotation, to take the lead, it was back and forth and West Hardin hit a buzzer beater with 1 sec on clock.  Dumas a Freshman for Hardin had a good game. Rives is a Junior,  Hardin is young this year, but they are getting better every game. Keep working hard.
7. No, the trainer has not always been the AD. He has been the AD since at least Joubert was there.
8. That Freshman for Humble Christian  Joe Burton is good, been watching him play since 5th grade.
9. Another question:  Player A  gets fouled - already in double bonue......after foul is called,  player A,,,throws ball at other teams player, resulting in a Tech and his 5th foul.    Who shoots the free throw for the initial foul,  player coming off bench to replace said player is who shot the foul.  The opposing teams coach, was very adamant that HE got to choose the FT shooter for the tech. The refs said no, the player coming in shoots it.  Because it was the 5th foul, he could not shoot his own FTs for the initial foul.    Is there a rule for this?    Thanks.
10. Silsbee +15 Woodville is athletic, fast, not alot of size, but man are they quick. Run and gun.  They didn't seem to handle the press very well.
11. Heck if you don't support certain schools your a step child....as you know Dove
12.   He just might be one of the best in this area, best at HJ. Should be decided at the end of the season.  What qualifies a player to be the best?  Ability, how much they help their team?    Bosha is talented, leave him be and enjoy the show. Good luck young man.
13. he he  might be some of the same refs that Liberty had at a home game recently.
14. High score  New Waverly # 11  16 pts # 10  15 pts Hardin M Taylor  11 pts Revis        8 pts
15. That mentality is a huge mountain.  If there has been significant defeat for years/generations, believing in winning instead of almost winning, or we only lost by 10, etc is very hard to over come. 1st you must believe in yourself, then your team, and so on.
16. Just seems like most of the height advantage kids go to Ozen.  Just have to wait and see, the next few years.
17. Liberty is pretty good this year. Coach has done a great job.  vs Hardin, I think this is the worst game Hardin has played in a long time. 26 turnovers in 1st half. 7 inthe 2nd half.  Fitzwater is good. Liberty did not handle being pressed very well in the 2nd half, and will need some work on that.  Summer league was out of control, no referring, and certainly no huge blow outs, more like street ball.,  I do think Liberty will do well this year, just not sure if they will advance once they get to regionals.
18. First of all, it doesn't help the players to believe in themselves whenever bluedove is on here telling them they don't stand a chance and that they don't deserve to be on the team. Now its all your fauly Dove.  if they cannot play well or have chemistry because someone talks about them, they are going to have a tough life.  Ignore the talk, prove them wrong, have a yes I will attitude, I'll show you. Do something about it. If you are not working to fix whats wrong you are part of them problem.  Work even harder then you ever thought you could. If that dang freshman PG is that talented, find out what his secret is. Go to a work out with thim, learn together. You might even teach each other something and build chemistry.
19. Coach DJ gave some advice last week.  As a freshman be seen not heard. Let them see you at your best all of the time. Do not talk noise, etc. Let your game do your talking for you.  Sophomore year its a coming out party.
20. Watched Central vs WB freshman last week, only a couple of kids 6'2 or better between both teams.  Alot of people think 6'2 is a giant around here.  When 6'2 is a small in Houston.
21. 95% of the time he will be the best athlete on the floor. However, I've also seen him get down on his teammates and all around just try to do too much forcing bad shots or making silly passes. His attitude is a problem for me. I don't like to see guys degrade their teammates because they aren't as good 95% - then by district he should be on JV, depending on how far team could go to playoffs, get moved up.  He is a freshman, he will have to learn the whole team captain, role model for a high school player, encourage instead of degrade, but that will come with playing time and maturity. Also, older players may think just because he is offering advice, or his knowledge of the game, that he is degrading them.  It does not mean he thinks he is better then you, his intention is purely to make the teams better.  But what Senior wants to listen to some freshman, right.  If he is already 95% of the time the best athlete on the floor, he might teach them something.  And if you are talented but no one takes you seriously because you are a freshman, you might have a attitude, doesnt make it right, but that can also be corrected.  Team chemistry does not happen over night. Trusting a player takes time. If they cannot catch the passes, they have to work together on that, softer, or just practice getting to know each others touches/likes/dislikes.   Lil Blue Dove - keep working, keep you head up and be patient. Always do what you are capable of, give 112% all the time, no matter where you play, ot at what level. It is still up to the coach to play him at an upper level. Just be so dang good, he would be foolish not to play you.
22. I do agree there is a problem with athletics in Beaumont,  have seen it.  Lots of politics involved, as to who coaches where.  I just don't blame the school board or superintendent for it. There are other people IMO more at fault.  You commented that all of the white people are leaving BISD.  I asked about the non white who are going to the other schools. I believe adding a little color to your team, always helps.  Could that be part of the reason for some of those teams success, or is it the talented white kids that left BISD?  And you right it isn't politically correct, but it is what it is.  Should have its own post,  not here at the WB/Pearland post as well.
23.

Until BISD changes its ways this will be a common theme.  They keep running families out of Beaumont so you will see the Lumberton's Nederland's Bridge City's and PNG's of the world continue to improve and see BISD schools continue to disappoint.
What the heck are you talking about?  Did you even manage to read any of this stuff? Who's running out of BISD?  Enrollment is doing good.  As I said, this have nothing to do with the current topic...  ::) ::)
Denial isn't a river in egypt.  Bisd enrollment has been flat for over twenty years.  As for who is moving out of the district, surely you aren't that ignorant?  All of the white people are leaving bisd.  It started with the great ping pong ball debacle of 1980.  Slowed in the early 90's with the promise of neighborhood schools.  And has picked back up again under the watch of the current superintendent and board.  Since you are in total denial, look at the white enrollment in bisd.  It is around 15% now!
Your still not proving a point... Just sound like a bitter and ignorant individual...
So the non white increase of students in Nederland, PNG, BC, and Lumberton is due to the white people leaving BISD?  Or due to the current board and superintendent in BISD? Crime rate might scare them. Couldnt be any other reason or could it? Thoughts?
