  1. Reyes from WB Taylor from Hardin is alot of fun to watch.  Athletic, good arm.  I believe he was not a QB a couple of years ago. He does plays a lil defense when needed. Outside LB/  Good basketball player as well, he can dish the rock.
  2. Except for you.... ;D [/quote] LOL  I went by practice last week, you were busy coaching, heard everyone won this weekend. congrats
  3. That SuperBowl was awesome.  Game ball brought in by parachute.  Chance to win I forget, was in $10,000.  All was well when the Bulls decided to leave for TIFI.  No hard feelings from R & M, it was just a better fit for the Bulls at that time.  Jay did not explain to the family's when he left, what all transpired, or maybe not to all of the family's.  All water under the bridge, and life moves on.
  4. You dont try out.  They have a sign up, just like all the other leagues. Normally in April.
  5. I was at the game.  I did see a few non calls, esp pass interference both ways,  I saw a TD we scored, I saw our reciever push off to make the catch, was glad they did not call it, but the trip down before, there was interference from Buna that was not called. what about the buna kid, that pulled Hardins kids helmet off and threw it,  they called personal foul,.  but why wasnt he tossed?  You think they should not have called that one?  I agree we need better tackling, not grabbing practice.  Hit somebody please.  Lots of dropped catches too.  Open receivers not getting the ball. Miles ran for his life last night.  I heard grades will be a factor for the JV also.
  6. I have been with the Bulls since 04. It has always been 1st come, 1st served.  never try out,  We were never told why the Senior team could not play in 05, and why only them. They went and played up in jasper that year, and the rest played here.  We were told after that, they wanted the teams seperated by schools in the West end, could not get enough kids from 2-3 schools to form one team, the kids were from all over Beaumont. Having been Bulls for 2 - 3 years, it would not have been fair to tell them you cannot play this year, because your at the wrong school. So BUlls moved to TIFI.
  7. Buna did a great job running the ball. I have never seen offensive line substitutions as often and all night long, as Buna did.  Thats where the game was won, there O line, ran over Hardin, and the 2 headed back monsters had a field day.  Buna could not stop the catches by #10.  Refs made a few bad calls, in both favors.  I was impressed by the size of Buna's band, they are huge and sound good. The Hornet band has improved over the years, kudos to the drum line. The Hornet fans cheered on the boys, never giving up.  Big turnovers by Hardin really hurt as well.  Hardin needs to find a running game.  Saw big hits from both sides, with Buna having more.  I enjoyed the game, and the fans.  Great job Buna, good luck in District.  Keep your heads up Hornets, get ready for next week.
  8. Mark you have always done a great job in your leagues. The Bulls enjoyed playing for Lone Star, but made a decision to move to TIFI. They did not mind playing 7th graders, just getting them ready to play with the big boys in Middle School and High School. You have to play older kids then.  Good luck to you Sir.
  9. TIFI Beaumont Bulls is not a all star select team.  They are kids from Beaumont, with a few from Cheek.  It is 1st come , 1st sign up, 1st 25 to sign up are in, reserved players from the previous year are guaranted a spot on the 1st sign up date. There are no tryouts, like you have in select.  I think other teams in this area would given the Bulls a good game.
  10. I personally dont think it is a downfall, being my son played for the Bulls when he was in youth football.  But, there are parents out there who choose to not play for TIFI due to the traveling.
  11. I don't think you can say one is better then another. They all serve their purpose for the family's in them.  They all have good athletes, because they all teach their kids about more then just football. I believe they all put the kids 1st.  One kid maybe a superstar in one league and not in another.  They all have plus and minus reasons to join, depending on if you talk to a happy parent or a unhappy one.  The biggest downfall for TIFI is the travel to Houston area for at least 5 games. The Bulls usually make it a all day thing, traveling together by teams, some even go up the night before. They also get to see other talent out there, they might come across in high school playoffs, instead of just local talent.  Lone star and STJFL are local and easier on the travel.  Just depends on what is best for you and yours.
  12. This just sickens me.  I have witnessed parents going after coaches into parking lots, coaches wanting to get after other coaches, parents on parents, it is just ridiculous.  The kids just want to play.  Leagues have had to become stricter, due to things like this happening.  Do back ground checks, have a zero tolerence policy on unruely behavior. They have also gone to fining the coaches.  Those coaches will more then likely be banned from the league period. Hate it for the boys though.
  13. Hardin made the playoffs 2 years ago,  they also made it in either 2003, 0r 2004 when B Anderson and that group were there.  Having watched Hardin over the last 13 years,  they have grown from where they were. I do not see a State championship, but I see a group of well coached talented young men with the fans that believe in them. There is no boasting from this group on this thread. We only want to see them do well, and improve from week to week. We are not saying Buna is bad, only that we support the Hornets. I know a few people from Buna and wish them well throughout the season.  Hardin may lose against Newton, but i believe so will alot of other teams this season.  I have supported Hardin when they where in the last spot year after year and when they win when no one thought they could.

  15. The TIFI league that the Beaumont Bulls plays in do not allow 7th graders.  You can also live anywhere around here and play. You are not restricted do to where your house is. They used to play in Lone Star and decided to go back to TIFI.
  16. Good job Lil C. Keep up the good work.
  17. IMO and based on articles I have read:  Some kids go to one sport, but usually it's after your freshman yaer. Some kids stop playing football, because their friends dont play, or they play another sport. Some kids know they played limited amounts in middle school, and just don't want to ride the pine in high school. Some are focued on academics and quit sports all together.  I think it depends more on erollment then amount of coaches, if you have the number of boys you need to fill the team, you will have the coaches.  There are a few select coaches that are in it for themselves. The majority that I know, are all about the kids and tell them being a multisport athlete is better for you. Other sports enhance you and help you for the next, keeps you in shape, etc.  Mine plays select basketball, but is a multisport player.
  18. Shake dem haters off.    There will always be haters.  Support your team, win or lose.
  19. Beaumont Bulls team got the #12 stickers and wore them last weekend, and they shall remain for the season.
  20. Thank you.  I have a little experience of "haters", seen in quite a few times, in various aspects of life.    ;)
  21. Mostly it is a person who does not want to see you or your team succeed.  It could be because they are jealous of your talent, they could actually really think highly of your play, think you are a good player, but instead of letting you know, or asking you to help them get better,  they throw Hater Aide.  Some haters are just that, no one or team is better then what they believe in.  It can be team mates as well, they would rather see someone fail, because they cannot rise to the challenge themselves.
  22. Looking at overall team states, should be a good game. They are very close in the rushing offense and team defense. I am excited, I'll get to go to this game.
  23. I think it will be close, Hardin by 7.
