  1. Jason Henry from West Hardin ?  Good Coach and used to be at Kelly.  Haynes has applied is what I have heard.
  2. Leave it where it is,  Mine can't be there the next week !   LOL
  3. At one time Kelly had an endowment fund.  They also have a pay by your income.  You still have to take a entrance test and maintain your grades to stay there.
  4. No word on applicants / interviews yet?
  5. Kelly and Hardin have a scrimmage scheduled this season, should be interesting to see who is coaching where.
  6. Coach Long wanted to stay at Kelly as long as he could.  Great Man!  He is leaving to be closer to his family.  He is blessed to be able to work as an Assistant at a school closer to his parents and work toward retirement.  He has been exceptional at Kelly and toward the community.  I was the President of the Beaumont Bulls Youth FB League when they played at Kelly, and he was a true inspiration.  He did everything he could for those young boys.  He also did the same for the Beaumont Bulldogs since they started playing there.  As for as who will replace him, Good luck to that Coach, Kelly has alot of talent there and a ton of support from parents, fans, staff, and Ex Bulldogs.  Good Luck Coach Long from the Dumas family
  7. Congrats Bealoved,  Hard work pays off !!
  8. Read the article online.  He's leaving for Clear Creek area. Stay tuned.
  9. They did do well.  There were several 4A school there,  Maybe in the big school division, except for Defenders whbo were all to be sophs and 1 to be jr.  Small school division had mostly jv teams,.some freshman teams and a all incoming freshman team.  Great competition. Saw a lot of talent out there.  Lindale a 3A schoool had a sr post player, all state this yr, was the most impressive post I saw
  10. Local Houston Defender Select players, played in a team camp at A&M this weekend.  15U team got 2nd overall, defeating varsity teams from Houston, Austin. And Dallas area.  14U team lost in Elite 8 in smal school/ JV division.  Incoming freshman at Central and Dayton played great. Sophmore at Hardin did a good job. Great to see local talent out there.
  11. I got to watch Nederland this am, while at A&M, impressive 3 point shootiing.  Not a lot of size, but talented. They beat Whitesboro and lost to Clear Creek.
  12. Nederland is putting in work,  lots of size and athletes out at A&M.  A few other SE Tx boys getting work with their selct teams also.  Pretty impressive so far.
  13. Got to see lots of S E Tx talent today.....looking good out there,  Hoops,  team sneed and Defenders. Great job guys.
  14. Hj is winning. Without a few.....gonna be better when all of the pieces are back
  15. Kountze is ,  looking good. Saw HJ play, without a few, and they look really good.
  16. Yup.....but 2 starters out with injurys....gonna be a long weekend
  17. Kountze summer league games start tonight.  1st game at 5pm.  Mon and Thursdays , if u want to watch.
  18. I watched 2 local players that are on Houston Defender Select 15U team play in McAllen this weekend in the 17U pool. They played several 4A and 5A playoff team summer teams.  C Dumas from Hardin and J Green from Westbrook played very well this weekend, leading their team to win their pool play. Only one loss in OT by 2.  Expect to see good things from these two in the future.
  19. I hope they make the best choice for the future of the program, and to bring solid basketball back to PA. I hope they take a long look at all candidates, and don't stop at just Yates. Too many excellent proven track records, no non sense guys out there t choose from.
  20. Not Boutees son?    Isn't he an assistant somewhere
  21. There are alot of teams who allow the Me attitude in AAU, but fortunately I have found a team for my son who does not tolerate it.  AAU is more physical,  but that being said he was ready as a freshman for the physical play of high school Varsity ball.  And High school Varisty has helped him mature more on the court for AAU this year.  I have seen some AAU teams that really don't care about the team concept or the players as a whole, but not often.  Most of the teams I have seen are there for the kids, to teach them and get them ready for the next level.
  22. Heard there are a couple of openings left for teams...Call Coach Haynes for info
  23. U talking about a incoming freshman?
  24. Not us.... He is on Select - Jacob.  No foreign exchange.
