Rain over the next 7 days is gonna really throw a monkey wrench into the pitching rotations and put teams with limited pitching in a serious bind if we end up with 2 or 3 cancelled games.  UIL says the games have to be made up at the first available open date...which could mean for example: Tues, Thursday, Friday, Saturday type set up...then back to schedule the following week with arms in recovery mode...WOW...this could really shake things up IMO.

Great tourney, and watched a bunch of baseball over the last 2 days. It was neat getting to talk to the kids from Colorado. They said they will take the dry 8°, over our wet cold A lot of close games, and a lot of work on the part of the coaches. Thanks to all the cheerleaders for working the concession stand. All the ladies who manned the hospitality room, and all the maintenance workers who attended to everything else.

@Big Ford - I get know credit for this boy having this season except for giving him extra Saturdays working out with Officer Casey Nonette in the cold and staying in his butt about achieving in that classroom. This young man wanted it with everything in him!!! He worked out into the dark so I've been told by Mr. Jeff from the BT Striders and others that live around and work out at the Brook. All I know is that he would say Daddy I am going work out at the Brook! I trusted him on that! If he wanted it, it was out there for him and he went and got it!!!

He might be in timeout by now,  I think he has fell off the wagon and pulling for Rusk to win,,if you know what I mean!   When I left he was talking crap to his own admins.  I think there was alot of expectation there this year and it all came down at once and some of them Malakoff people are having trouble dealing with it.  Oh well!  I hope this elementary offense and undisciplined defense of Kirbyville does better this week

With the schedule Buna has played this year I give them a very good chance of winning. Besides Malakoff and Teague in that district it falls of tremendously after those two. Anybody can be 9-1 or 10-0 when you play a weaker non district schedule.  I will assure you Buna is battle tested and will be up for this game and will not layover for Malakoff.  This will be the toughest team Malakoff has played this year, yes I said toughest that includes Teague

After I had the chance to digest the whooping Buna handed Kountze...all I can say is great job Buna and hope Kountze re-boots! As far as running a score up...Buna ran the same game plan start to finish, could have made it 88 but did not! Joe Clark, Tyler Edwards, Perry Smith, J. Jackson...great game men!

LOL  No more guarantees that a certain team will win, list all the names on their team as greatest in this district or playing college's. LOL All smack aside, I think that the top 4 teams could win on any given night if the other team stumbles. Great game Buna. You fought till the end and never gave up. You can be proud of your team and community because it was a hard fought game and the fans were a class act backing their team. Good luck Buna with the rest District and representing District 12 well in the playoffs. I would like to see EC win out and that 3 way tie for second. LOL  ;)

I'm seeing the same old story that it has been week after week for Buna. While Buna is getting a little bit more respect than before, I feel like they are still being under estimated. Maybe that's a good thing and Buna will come out on top just like they have every week this season when nobody thought they were any good.

Buna will give ec fits because
1. They play disciplined on defense. They don't overpursue, and bit down hard on fakes. If ec finds a way to block Edwards then the middle is open.
2. Buna's secondary plays tight on the outside (atleast they did against Kirbyville most of the time.) This takes away the screen game. Ec does have speedy tough backs.
3. You better find a way to block Tyler Edwards because he is coming. And 44 can run sideline to sideline plays a solid linebacker

These kind of comments about "one and done" for a fellow district team bother me. I dislike the Kirbyville smack talk just like everyone else, but the smart thing to do is to be supportive of every district team once the playoffs roll around because if we all do well in the playoffs it makes the entire district look better. The reason our area gets very little respect for football statewide is because our teams commonly go "one and done". So even as much as Kirbyville makes me angry, I hope they go really far in the playoffs. I certaintly don't hope they lose out in the first round
