1st quarter, Evadale up 34 - 6

Heard West Hardin won by 12. Also hear there were about 7 technical fouls between the 2 teams. Sounds like it got pretty sporty down at Oiler gym.

Most small schools have everyone in basketball. I am getting the boys out everytime I can. Practicing them on the weekends, and starting some pitching work. Season can't get here fast enough.

Final from Evadale: Colmesneil - 19 Evadale - 84

After 3 quarters, Rebs up 72-11.

At the half, the Rebels lead 53-10.

At the end of the 1st quarter, Evadale up 27-4.

First district game for the Rebels. JV boys final was Evadale 40 Colmesneil 18.

Rebels played the best I have seen them play all year. Rebounded well, took good shots, and cut down on turnovers. Great tourney going 3 and 1 and hopefully got the ship right headed into district.

I believe the final was 73-49, Woden. Woden has a 6'05" kid that does it all....I bet he had 40 of their 73.

Orangefield wins 52-49.

Okay, I've watched a weekend worth of basketball, both boys and girls. I have seen puches thrown, bones broke, bodies thrown and I just can't recall basketball being this violent. I saw 1 tech called - only 1. I am curious if other tourney watchers observed this. I have friends in TASO, and they tell me they can't get people to apply, and I understand it is not for everyone. But a 2 man crew for a varsity game does not work very well. Great tourney, with a lot of good, close games. I think it will benefit Evadale by playing all these larger schools. Thanks to all who attended.

3rd place game: WO-S - 64 Evadale - 46

4th place final: Orangefield - 36 Bridge City - 76

BC has played well. The game between Vidor and BC was close, but Vidor did pull it out. Vidor has a great coach, and he is definitely getting the most out of his players.
