  1. I think Marauder and Franchise are one in the same.  I am not sure though, and there could be several others I'm not aware of.  I was going off of the teams we played last year.
  2. The following are the teams I am aware of (in no particular order): 1.  Gladiator Baseball (Beaumont), 2.  Gulf Coast Storm (Orange), 3.  Demolition Baseball (Orange), 4.  Prospects Baseball (Mid County), 5.  Xtreme Baseball (Anahuac), 6.  Franchise (Hardin County), 7.  Louisiana Prospects (Moss Bluff/Westlake), and 8.  Bullet Baseball (Lake Charles, La). I know the Gladiator's have already posted their tryout, and most of the rest should post soon.  As they continue to post I wish you the best of luck on finding a team.
  3. Chester is in TYler County, and it has been a long time for most of the schools in the county.
  4. From the megatropolis that is Chester, 1982 graduate Bo Stanley.  He was a beast in every sport, and was a senior when I was freshman.
  5. Looking forward to it.  Going to get D registered tonight.  I always love the laid back, teaching atmosphere that fall-ball brings.  Hope we get a good amount of players registered for another successful season.
  6. I saw this posted on the web site: Fall Ball registration is around the corner.  We will have registration July 23rd, 24th, and 26th in BCLL Board Room from 6-8pm. just curious what the ages are?  Are we going to have a league for older boys?
  7. Tried talking our kids into playing our world series in Omaha this year.  I was met with a whole host of "No's!"  They all said they didn't want to go where there was nothing but cornfields.  I'll talk my wife into it eventually.
  8. The CWS is my favorite sporting event of the year.  My wife and kids laugh at me, but I try to block off the whole time and watch as many games as possible.  This year has been especially good, and this finals has been a blast to watch.  Two very good teams, and excellent baseball being played on both sides.  I don't think people appreciate defensive struggles, but these have really been worth watching.
  9. Best of luck to yall finding a team.  Stay tuned and I know Prospects Baseball will probably hold tryouts sometime in September.  They had 2 12 year old teams this year, that will be playing up next year.
  10. Are you meaning a 13 year old team for next year, or 13 year old presently?  Most of the teams will start having tryouts for next years team starting in September.  You might have some luck finding a team getting ready for their world series.  Teams always have kids going on vacation, some dealing with injury.  What position(s) does he play?  Did he play league ball anywhere?
  11. How 'bout them Prospects.  Couldn't have asked for a better father's day.  4 - 1 for the weekend, and the boys played together as a team, putting we before me.  Really an enjoyable tourney at a great venue.  Katy Little Leage is a beautiful park.
  12. Baseball......it will always be the first thing I go to on SETX Sports.  I do enjoy football, but baseball is the greatest sport.
  13. Thanks, I was pretty sure I was correct.  We filed the protest, and they told me I was correct on the call, but denied the protest.  Definitely tough to be the good guy sometimes.  Thanks for the reply.
  14. I know this has probably been covered here, but I really did not want to go through 20+ pages.  Senior League game at Bridge City (13 - 16).  Two outs and runners at first and second.  A ground ball is hit to the 5/6 hole between short-stop and third base.  The short-stop comes up to make the play and as he fields the ball is ran into by the runner coming from second to third base.  The collision knocks the short-stop sideways but he is still able to get a throw off.  The umpires stated it was "incidental" contact, and ruled everyone safe.  Is that the proper call, or is it a case of interference?
  15. Amazing how quickly the best season of the year comes and goes.  We are getting close to our world series, so my mind starts looking to the next season.  My middle son is 13 now, and we have had a great season and he has done very well.  My question is to parents of older kids.  Do these speed schools really help?  They have a very good one at Athletes in Pt. Neches, and one at Exygon.  I know they are pretty expensive, but I think as they get closer to high school you have to start looking for that competitive edge.  A friend of mine has a good saying, "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work."  We are looking at enrolling both our younger boys at the school in Port Neches, but just wanted to get some feedback from parents who have already been down this road.
  16. Tourney games got changed, so we'll just have to catch the highlights on SETXsports, and KOGT.  Good luck BC.
  17. Is there limited capacity at the stadium?  We are playing a tourney in Lake Charles that morning and my son wants to go to the game.  I just don't want to make the trip to get turned away.  Oh, and go get 'em Cards.
  18. Where do you think this series (or 1 game) will be played?  I had to miss the game against Huffman, but my boys have already told me we WILL NOT miss this next one.  Robinson is near Waco, where did they play this last year?  Would love it if they played at SHSU, that is a beautiful park.
  19. Having the same problem.  Not that it is anything new, but I feel like an idiot.
  20. Can't wait to hear where this is going to be played at.  Better be a big facility......remember that series between Jasper & BC a couple of years ago at Lamar.  That place was packed.  Let's go 'Cards, keep working hard and get it done.
