Way to go boys!  Congratulations to the Prospects 13U team on winning the Spring Slam tournament at Marauder Park.  A rough Saturday was short-lived, and the boys brought their sticks on Sunday.  A very good tournament of four competitive teams, and a really enjoyable weekend of baseball in Lumberton.  We are very proud of how you fought back; enjoy this one for a day or so and buckle down for the next tourney. 

Great game, really impressed with the 'Cards from top to bottom in the lineup.  The pitching is solid, and they just look very poised.  Very nice job.

Daniel Bean hit a 3-run shot against Hull-Daisetta tonight.  Luke Lazoya also hit one out.  Daniel plays for the Good Samaritan Hornets, and they won 12 - 2.  Good Samaritan is primarily made up of home-schooled kids.  Daniel is a 7th grader, and Luke is a sophomore.

Would love to see those 'Jackets pull one out.

I believe this game was cancelled.

I think the final was WH 8 and GSF 5.  I heard GSF had a strong little pitcher to start the game, who had 4 k's, gave up 2 hits and left with a 5-4 lead. 

Not only does BCLL start soon, but we have our first select tourney this weekend in Conroe.  Hope we get some good weather this week, and things dry out some.  Ready to see the boys get out and hopefully have some fun.  Hope the week flies by so we can get to the tourney.

I know it is early, but is there truly an elite world series for youth, outside of the organized leagues (Little League / Pony / etc.)?  I know all about the Nations / USSSA world series, and some of the open world series such as the one in Flower Mound.  Is there a youth world series that is thought more highly of, or is perhaps more well-respected out there?

We live in the greatest country in the world because of the sacrifices of our veterans.  I am proud to have served in the USAF, and in Desert Storm.  As the father of three boys, my hope and prayer is they will live in a free society and never have to go through a major war.  Thank you to all that have served, and God bless the United States of America. 

Going to be a long drive over from Bridge City.  I need to make sure we pack a picnic lunch, and fill the tank up.  I wasn't able to find purple face paint in BC, but that's probably a good thing.  With this bald head, I would have needed a lot of paint.  Go Jackets!

[color=purple]I am really looking forward to it.  Everyone is talking about giving CCS some time, but remember, this is only Chester's second year playing 6-man.  Being one of the smallest 1-A schools in the state, we are well aware of the importance of staying healthy and depending on each other.  Chester currently has 10 young men on the team, and that just doesn't give you much room if the injury-bug comes a knockin'.  Best of luck to both team, and should be a great game.  I'm thinking about tail-gating before the game, so if you see someone with a very faded purple high school jersey, stop by and say hi. Congratulations to the Lions.  Really looking forward to when my YellowJackets come down in a couple of weeks.  Be the closest game to go to since we don't play Evadale or Deweyville anymore.  It's a trip to get up there from Bridge City.  Hope the young man is doing well that was taken to the hospital. 

Still learning this 6-man game, but everything will be alright.  Play hard 'Jackets and I can't wait 'til you come down to Orange so I can watch.  Best of luck this season from the Beans.

Looking forward to tomorrow when we start the fall season.  We have three games scheduled and the boys are really excited.
