  1. Gotcha, ,I understand, grew up over that way myself...about 101 years ago...We may know some of the same people...
  2. I respect what GP has done thusfar, they'll be well coached, I actually know 2 of their coaches personally, "but", after what Dayton did to The Hill, just don't see GP beating them..I see Dayton winning this one by 14-17 points....or maybe more if their offense plays pretty much turnover free...I think Dayton goes thru District without a loss.....
  3. Didn't get to see the game, was flying back into town. Doesn't sound like I missed much from a BH perspective...That's got to be the worst defeat that I can remember for The Hill.. Hats off to Dayton, obviouslty much better team than I thought they had, looks like they will reclaim the District title again..The National Anthem thing, is totally inexcusable in my book.. You should have your guys  lined up on the field waiting for that moment..  Disappointed is an understatement..No way that should ever happen..and missing the Reggie Garrett tribute...I hate that happened..Hopefully their will be a statement coming out of BH for that miscue..Can't blame the kids for that..
  4. This is a good thread, because its stops and makes you think about whats really important in life. My son too, was quarterback in high school, and everytime he got back up after a play me and his mom were thankful. We never really talked that much about it, but we knew every game he came back home healthy was a blessing. Seen him lift up his shirt battered and bruised many times, but if you've seen the documentray on ESPN2, "Boys of Fall" most of you understand why they do it, and why we did it when we were in school..Tell you something else I learned too, I "never" criticize a high school QB, or any of the players for that matter, because I'll guarantee you, their giving it all they got for    about $6.00 a ticket..Just go have fun guys...Good luck to WOS the rest of the year, and God bless all you guys..Us old guys may get on here and give each other a hard time , but we love all you guys that play the game..Stay safe and enjoy those Friday nights!
  5. PURPLE, we'll never know that for sure will we? All the kids at GP know is their 3-0, and Dayton si 0-3.  Ask the kids if they care about who's played who.. Strength of schedule only accounts for so much, otherwise we wouldn't need to play the games now would we.
  6. Dayton continues to be bothered by turnovers. BH    24 Dayton 20 Hey IMO this just isn't close to be one of Dayon's better teams. It's early so, they may prove me wrong,...Can't live on your past seasons..Dayton has to quit talking about it and show me, until then the Hill wins a close one here. No disrespect to Dayton, got a solid program, but 0-3 speaks for itself schedule or not. BH will have to play solid defense and win the turnover ratio for this to happen though. On another note GP is pretty solid, schedule or not.. They will be a large factor in how the district finishes up this year.
  7. One thing you have to say about a Dayton team, "Well Coached", Stewarts af irst rate coach and you know his guys will be ready, that said, I believe The Hill will be ready, Gage is top notch and the kids love this guy..Should be a good one..Wish we were playing at home.....
  8. Lets just hope the BH kids are focusing on trying to get their first district win..Neither team has played that well thus far this season, but hopefully that will change. If BH can keep it close thru 3 quarters, they have shot, especially if Dayton continues to have turnover problems..An earlier comment about Dayton by 40, obviously more purple kool-aid floating around somewhere around HWY 90..That's a pipe dream...Let's go BH.....
  9. What a tragedy. Words cannot describe the sadness I feel for a young man I never met but feel I knew..My prayers go out to his family. classmates, and team for this horrible loss. May God give all of you strength during this time of difficulty. Thank you God for the time this young man was with all of them, and the the lifetime impact he was able to inspire in all that knew him. Now he is walking hand and hand with you on streets of gold. God bless! This really puts football and life in perspective.
  10. This is getting down right entertaining... I may just skip the Leno show and hit the bed early..
  11. I do believe a raw nerve has been struck.....Sure is fun!
  12. Man, I love this time of year BHFAN...Cooler weather, deer season, and football... Jacking with the boys up the road at Dayton is almost as easy as getting the deer to come to my corn feeder!!! Sitting around a camp fire pourin up purple kool-aid.....MM /MM good......
  13. Octfeb, I'll be sure and pass that coaching secret on to Gage at BH, that you want to lose all those non districtrict games in order to tune up for district....Back to my orginal post that simply stated, neither team BH or Dayton has played that great thus far, other than a little daylight in a win for BH over Nederland..Hey if you happy with an 0-2 record pour up another round of that purple kool-aid....and pass it around...
  14. Wow, you must have missed another English class at good ole Dayton, my post clearly states "Dayton should have the edge",(that translates into they should win) but hey do the numbers 0-2 sound familiar....We'll see how it sorts itself out in about two weeks......I'll be the first to say Dayton has really solid football program, but hey when your winless, you might ought to remain focused on getting that first "W"....
  15. Just not drinking the purple kool-aid like you are.. lol...Last time I checked Dayton's record is still 0-2, and this is 2010...Cody and AJ aren't in Kansas anymore...Read the post, said Dayton "should" win this one,but just don't think this is one of Dayton's better teams... Reality 101.....
  16. The truth is neither Dayton or the Hill have played well this year. Dayton at 0-2 and BH at 1-2 have both had trouble holding on to the ball, until BH's last game against Nederland. To BH's credit Sante Fe is now 3-0 as well as Lumberton, so they played two pretty good teams and Nederland is no pushover..Earlier comment Dayton, by 50...lol..Dayton won't be beating anybody by 50 this year...This game could go either way, Dayton should have the edge, but if the Hill can hold down turnovers and play some defense they have shot..Right now, neither have much to crow about... off week for BH..Work hard guys, things are getting better and you're play against Nederland demonstrated that.. Congrats on good win against Nederland....
  17. I was at the BH/Nederland game, and of course glad BH got the win, but I can tell you Nederland's QB is a super athlete, they have huge offensive line and they never quit..They will  be in the playoffs..Very good and classy team..
  18. The drought for Huffman will end this week......Huffman by 14..
  19. Would love to see BH win this one,"but" just don't see it happening yet..Have to eliminate or minimize the turnovers to have chance in their next 2 games..It will come, Gage is top notch coach....... Nederland  24 BH            10
  20. Sorry but the HAY WON'T BE IN THE BARN THIS WEEK..... Buna 24 HF  10
  21. Well said BHFAN. One or two games doesn't define a season or a coach.. Price has had past success, and Gage's State titles and past record speak for his ability.. Good luck to BH and HF...Guess the hays not in the barn for Price just yet.......
  22. Sounds a lot like last years team.. Lot of turnovers early for BH... Who started at QB for BH?
