  1. Quarterback at BH is up the air. One kid with some playing time last year, but very limited, and couple from the JV team. this will be a big question mark.
  2. Could be, time will tell.... Hey who will handle the QB duties for for Dayton this year, or is that yet to be determined?
  3. I agree, its a nice rivalry very close to home. I remember last year playing ya'll, watch Cody Green, the guy was unbelievable.. He had the look of guy that had been playing college ball already.. At 6-4", when he ran he looked like he was gliding.. I think he'll do well at Nebraska.. He's the real deal. It will be nice too play you guys. We do have to play at ya'lls field. That won't make it any easier.. lol
  4. Very good point, tha makes perfect sense.....Actually a BH fan, and Dayton should be the odds on favorite. Their well coached have very good athletes, only thing, they were such an offensive machine last year with Cody Green and Dugat. They will have to depend on a "less potent" offense this year and hope the defense can rise up....Crosby, I don't think can challenge them just yet, and BH still a little young and unknown..but they will always be diciplined and ready to play.
  5. The pollsters have spoken. Looks like Dayton is the odds on favorite, Crosby 2nd, then North Forest in 3rd, with BH, GCM, and Galena Park battling for the fourth playoff spot. CE King just got no respect....... Hmm, we'll see what happens in 2009....I still think Dayton has too much talent to replace to repeat this year, but they'll obviously be a solid ball club..Good luck to all the kids!
  6. Barbers Hill at PNG will be a good game week #!. The first game in the new stadium and both teams have alot of tradition. PNG actually came back from behind to win the game last yearat BH. This should be a good one. Both schools well coached.
  7. I agree. Stadium pictures look awesome. Its nice to see a class program get a facility like that. It will do the entire community good. But I would sure like to spoil the opener and sneak out of there with a win! Eagles will be ready! I heard BH is going to do a "redo"of their stadium after the 2010 season, new turf and scoreboard.
  8. North forest having a new coach won't help them, takes time to make the transition. Kingwood Park and Goose Creek should be better, but BH should beat both of those schools. BH has few kids coming up from JV team that should help them, particularly on defense. Also their freshman team from last year was solid, so a couple of those kids should be playing varsity. Should be a very competitive district. As far as tradition Barbers Hill is (2nd), 509 wins thru the 2006 season ( including a couple of State Championships in the 70's, only behind Jasper in the number of all time wins in the SETX area. Wouldn't hurt to post this on the bulletin boards and remind the kids there's is alot of tradition on "the Hill". They should be playing wih alot of pride.
  9. I'll go with Crosby to finish on top here, then Dayton, and BH in the top (3). With the loss of Cody Green, AJ Dugat, and Cameron LaCour, there are too many big shoes for Dayton to fill for them to even be close to the same caliber of team. Crosby has a proven QB and solid defense. CE King will get the last playoff spot....(4 teams in the playoffs, man I still can't agree with that).....
  10. I will say PNG has got themselves a terriffic coach....The offense should be hitting on all cylinders, but the defense, we'll just take a wait and see approach.
  11. PNG has a rich tradition, just hope their not too distracted by the new scoreboard and all the bells and whistles and forget they have business to take care of. BH also knows how to win with lots of tradition.
  12. I'm going with the Hill in this one..Good speed on defense, and new and improved offense....
