I heard through the grapevine that multiple coaches turned down the job recently due to board member rumors and low pay. Newspaper came out a few years back saying west hardin was one of lowest Ad jobs in the state. Is it still true?

I dont think he means everyone. I think he is talking about the school board members and the people who were friendly to the coaches face and then ran their mouths on FB. Heck the AD they ran off was from there. Right after making the playoffs.

Here is how I heard it. A board member who has been out of control thought his son should be getting the ball more and pitched a fit to the coach during football season. Then when baseball came along the same board member didnt like the way baseball was going and went and got mouthy with the baseball coach. Since he didnt get what he wanted he went and rallied acouple of board members to try and non renew both coaches. This is after the best year in school history for athletics and thats not even counting if baseball wins and makes the playoffs Saturday. Some people just cant help but get over their ski's.

Coach Calvert really has those boys playing well!

We were Senior heavy last year but those seniors had the better part of their soph & jr years wasted.  I'd rather have a younger team that has been coached the right way over a veteran team coached the wrong way.  But that's just my opinion.

I hope Lumberton wins the game today. 

They have the best DT and OT in the state with a few other kids that are studs.

Figured it was your opinion bc it is wrong. College Coaches dont care about 7 on 7. Only people who do are the rating services. 7 on 7 main use is for developing players in a teams passing game.

These petitions and post do nothing to help HD get good coaches in the future. HD55 appears to be more of a problem to the program than anything else. If I lived in that community I would start a petition that would not allow him to post on the interenet EVER. All he does is entertain us outsiders.

Do you honestly expect a coach to show 100% loyalty to a school district that only gives them a contracted job for 1 or 2 years at a time?  This right here is exactly why coaches explore options...because they know that any single year a board member can be the reason they have to search for a new job.  Might as well build up interview skills...my dad told me a long time ago.  "Son, get as much from them as you can while you can.  Because none of them care about you at all."  He wasn't necessarily talking about a school but I think that holds true with any job you have.  If they want a coach to retire at their school they should give contracts that don't run out.

54-3 over the last 4 seasons.....and 109-30 in 10 years....
I don't see how any single person on this planet can coach.  If those numbers aren't enough to get a renewal then nothing is.  Those board members are fools...this has personal agenda written all over it.  5 admin recommendations and the Head Football Coach is only one that didn't go thru...?  Yeah...Navasota got the POPS (pissed off parent syndrome)
