1. You are correct. Adams threw the first punch in the course of heated action on the floor, got a flagrant foul, and a 1 game suspension. All punishments seem very appropriate.
2. The WOS argument actually kind of makes you look worse. They dominated far more than you guys are. Won back to back state titles and have had zero problems like this. You guys keep saying how great you are but are wearing no rings.
3. I've seen no one from LCM on here defending any actions at all by anyone from their community. Only apologies and regrets. Silsbee on the other hand is using everything they can to place blame else where. Like the guy posted earlier, if you have problems with everyone you play then you might want to look in the mirror. And no, it isn't because you are so awesome that everyone looses their mind when they play you. This area has had many basketball teams go to the state tournament. None were on probation for fighting (like Silsbee). None had players suspended for fighting (Silsbee will). None had confrontations with almost every opponent they play (like Silsbee does). I too have seen the video. Let me be the first to defend the LCM kids. Get slapped in the face (which drew a technical foul at the time, no one is mentioning that, for those of you wondering who started it, might be the person who drew the first technical foul), then give a half slap in return that missed by 3 feet. Only to have the guy then throw a haymaker your way. Luckily a team mate stopped him from landing it. IMO I never saw an LCM player throw a "punch". #0 simple went in high to stop the kid from decking his team mate (did catch him in the face though). Then the Silsbee player threw another haymaker. I won't even touch on what #3 from Silsbee did. Except to say he should probably be facing criminal charges, and if he suits up again for Silsbee the school should be embarrassed.
4. Congrats to the Jasper coaches and the Jasper Bulldog players from the Hawks. I went to this game last night and left with one thing that I could not get off my mind. Carthage had the leadoff batter on several times. I cannot understand why they did not bunt. (accept for couple attempts with number 2 that got ONE down) They just stood in there and tried to hit a somewhat dominant pitcher. I know Coach Kirkland's style from his days over here and felt that had he been in the other dugout, Carthage possibly wins the game which shows the respect we have for him over here.
5. No one ever answered the question regarding "who pitched for HJ?"
6. that is averaging 12 pitches an inning. I saw this game. my bet is 113 is incorrect number. on the low end hs pitchers throw 15 pitches an inning. (usually more) and he pitched to three batters in the 10th
7. This post was interesting to me. Does it not say at the start of his post to stop pointing the finger? and then in the middle of post point the finger at the parents? and finish the post with pointing the finger at the high school coach?
8. Anybody know how many innings and pitches the starters for each team threw?
9. I just looked at usssa bracket for this weekend and gladiators are in 12u and 9u brackets. so must not be true
10. that's 15 wins and 17 losses your records cannot be correct
11. two exciting games played in jasper earlier. between them were, one coach ejected, one coach confined to the dugout, and two parents being ejected.
12. Just the fact the score was 30-1 is enough said.   The statement above made by 1987 exposes the problem if that guy is on that coaching staff.   "only stole second and third"    Stealing any bases at all after up over 10 runs is uncalled for.   There are ways to keep from scoring 30 and teach your kids a good lesson on the day.   I have seen the scores posted by that team and I am embarrassed for them.   Young Guns lesson of the week:  Kick a man when he is down
13. Did they have to forfeit ALL their games?  So 0-???  That is not good.
14. It was stated in the "If you were an umpire what would your call be on this play"? The ball was caught and dislodged by contact. That information, along with the photo, was given from the get go.
15. No mention of double play here. Just mentions if he decides not to slide what he must  and must not do. And he did not avoid contact.  He is out.  This is where a good, hat turned backwards chest bump, might help.
16. Mofo use your "umpires helper" and get the call right. You answered it in black and white for us all.  Quote from your helper.  If a runner goes into a base standing up and this act hindered the fielder in an attempt to make a play, it is interference. If he does not slide, he must get out of the fielder's way. Do the right thing like the dad did the other night apologizing to you. Get the call right.
17. Reading from the nfhs rule book, an umpire from shared this with me. He claims that runner should be out due to numerous rules. "Take your pick" to quote him. (thirty years experience in Texas High School Baseball) I did not tell him that umpires were commenting here.  You know they wil never overrule one another when one is wrong.  And we can all see this play is not 10 feet up the line. Article 2 Any runner is out when he: 2B. does not legally slide and causes illegal contact (he could be out by that rule) and/or illegally alters the actions of a fielder in the immediate act of making a play (he could be out by that rule) 2C. does not legally attempt to avoid a fielder in the immediate act of making a play on him. (he could be out by that rule)
18. So answer the original question Mr. Ump. Is the guy in the picture out or safe? Cause there is enough imfromation given here by the picture (and knowing the situation was a steal and dislodged ball) to make a call.
19. Official's call was incorrect.  Runner is out for making contact on play at a base that he did not make a legal slide directly into bag. If he slides directly into bag and makes contact and the ball comes out he is safe. That is no where near the case.  This photo shows obvious illegal contact and he should have been called out.  The only question that remained should have been, was it malicious.
20. Not a rules question, but just a question.  Can you please update photos on arbiter umpire site so coaches can put names with faces of umpires?
21.
So how many chances should one get before they deal with the consequences? Wow!!!
Sounds like it depends. If you are moving TO Nederland then you get as many as you need. If you are moving FROM Nederland then it's time to "deal with the consequences". Glad you're home dup. Go proof all the haters wrong.
22. They evidently don't even have to take an eye exam.
23.
Anyone who can assist me in gaining some year-by-year records of the Vidor Pirates please 718-7231. I would certainly appreciate. Gabe
Gabe you need to check your sources on that historical over all record. 718-7231 ??? Too many wins for them in last 60 or 70 years. I could be wrong.  Just doesn't look right.
