The Astros before the game looked out of it and defeated… buddy said before the game this doesn’t look good. He was right… Im afraid to say but I believe the gas tank is empty for the Astros for the 2026 season.

Nederland didn’t start the season the way they wanted, but they may have gone through exactly the kind of adversity that can build a tougher football team. They lost their starting QB, dealt with injuries, had to adjust offensively, and instead of folding, they’ve won two straight. The defense is playing hard, the running game gives them an identity, and the team appears to be developing confidence. Now the question isn’t what Nederland was in Weeks 1 and 2—it’s what this team becomes after everything they’ve already been through….

They don't play this week. Shepherd is play Katy Harmony. HJ is off.

If the final score isn't somewhere around say um 55-7 or better I'll have some questions for you @BMTSoulja1 especially seeing that this is yet another homecoming game for Ball High in the Golden Triangle. ☕

Me personally I don't think he's done anything wrong, but this type of situation happens in college all the time. The starter get hurt and if the backup comes in and plays good he deserves to continue playing unless he either gets hurt or just has a terrible game. I'm pretty sure the same situation happened to PNG the same year they won state. I wouldn't be surprised if they play both I don't think it's that hard to hand the ball off 100 times a game.🤣

I’ll be keeping an eye on that one too, curious to see if Shepherd is up to the hype. District play hasn’t been good to them.

6 runs is difficult to overcome and 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position isn't helpful. Long ball from an unlikely source gave hope, but it wasn't to be today.

No HS games this week. Possibly HCU hosting Nicholls on Saturday or LU game, or taking daugher to the Rice Festival. Early and undecided.

Truth be told I'll be more focused on the Shepherd/HJ game as I'll watch that at work and will try to provide updates.

I'll be there . I see it as a one possession game either way. West Sabine & Evadale were 1-2 in the preseason predictions but neither team was impressive last week. Colmesneil may be a sleeper for DC. Huge game for both teams coming in at 0-1 in district. You can't turn the ball over 3-4 times a game against most teams and be successful. If Deweyville takes care of the ball they should take care of business Friday Night.

Lufkin 28-24 holding on late for the win. Qualifier: They get their big DT back from injury. I still have them fighting with GCM for the 3 & 4 spots at the end of the year until BU shows they can continue their play from last week, and it wasn’t just a perfect storm. I think possible weather actually helps Lufkin more than New Caney. Plus, it’s pretty much an elimination game for the Panthers. I think they’ll come out focused and ready to play. Should be a good game between two pretty equal clubs. Look forward to watching on TL.

If they are lucky they may end up with one more win this season. It’s better than last season but can you really compare with the preseason of last year. I think district play will tell the real story of if the “exceptional” coaching is truly that.

New Caney by 10

I do think this is our best chance to win but I don’t see it happening. Horns tend to give a lot of opportunities and we don’t capitalize on the ones we’re given. If our D plays like they did against Liberty it will be a long night but will come down to which offense can execute.
