Thanks for clarification about the UIL. I was unaware. I was referring to the schools themselves. See the recent comment about LaPorte being forced by UIL to take the contract. Side thought... Regional band contests are basically playoffs for them. And free streams were allowed there. But I guess they see where the majority of money is made in the greatest state for HS football period. Soap box is still there if anyone else wants to step up. No pun intended lol

Pretty sure the La Porte broadcast is not a school funded and led broadcast. It's a privately owned broadcast much like what we do here except it's video. Taxpayers have nothing to do with those broadcasts. It's my understanding that all school funded and led broadcast entities can do their school playoff games. Just have to coordinate with UIL.
-
The school can broadcast the game...unless its changed if its a true academic broadcast that's ad free they have the ability to do so... If they sell ads then its not an academic broadcast and would have to broadcast on NFHS where they'd be compensated
-
Horrible. After the taxpayers spent all that money on broadcast capabilities. The governing arm turns the playoffs into a money grab. They could at least allow the school to broadcast and let the other services pick it up too
-
Thanks for watching A point of clarity the UIL doesn't receive taxpayer dollars...their financial reports are public record The League's sources of income are: membership dues; participation fees; contest fees; open records productions; publication sales; the admission price for state level cross-country, swimming and diving, tennis, wrestling and one-act play contests; an annually determined percentage of admission prices for state level baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and marching band contests; an annually determined percentage of football and basketball post district gate receipts; proceeds from radio and television broadcasting and telecasting contracts; as well as proceeds from sponsorships and advertising.

I'm wondering if fans should consider monthly subs with the other service. Honestly we would love for UIL to fall in line with TL. Just like they need the universal tiebreaker. Make it easy for fans without having to pay for multiple streams each week. Although I still feel since taxpayers fund everything already... it should be free on YouTube. Thanks for all the work you and the rest of DC put into this. Great show last night. I like the new interactive brackets on the app too

True, and I do understand what you’re saying, but I was thinking more about the Butch Johnson TD. Anybody, besides me, old enough to remember that one? Also, I did say….to me. Great weekend so far. Bulldogs won, Longhorns won, Miami, OSU, and Kentucky lost (helps my Longhorns). Don’t want to hear about how OSU could have won had their starting QB been healthy. Their defense allowed 71 points total in their back-to-back losses, and no one ever excuses my team’s losses because my QB got hurt. I’m sure my Cowboys will find some way to wreck the weekend. lol
-
Playoff streaming rights are complicated lol We will have 4 exclusive games a week on DCTX and a bunch of other games that will also be streamed to NFHS....NFHS will also have a lot of games we won't have
-
Does DC TL have contract for streaming playoff games? I think is was NFHS last season @Matthew328

They may have had someone asking to use the stadium on Friday. I’m not sure. Regrettably, there’s no stream or broadcast of the game. UIL won’t let LPsportsNET broadcast. I’ve been told by the broadcast group UIL is really pressuring folks to force them to take a contract with their preferred broadcast partners.
