So true. I believe some people think that when our Military has a new weapon, they advertise it. We find out about it when it becomes old news.....

The average gas price in the US has fluctuated significantly over the past two years. In 2022, prices reached a high, averaging $4.90 per gallon, but then decreased to $3.18 per gallon in 2023. In 2024, prices continued to fall, with an average of $3.22 per gallon in May. Texas prices today are averaging $2.85 Grocery prices have increased significantly over the past two years, with the rate of increase slowing down in 2024. In 2022, food prices saw the largest annual increase in 40 years, but price growth has been moderating since then. Economic Research Service (.gov) data indicates that while prices are still rising, the rate of increase is closer to historical averages. Dollar Tree raised its prices to $1.25 in 2021. Following that, the company began testing and implementing prices above $1.25, including $1.50, at some locations as early as March 2024. I think it is WAY better than under Biden. Biden had an all time gas price record of $5.016 per gallon on June 14th, 2022. I did a quick search of our forum and did not find a post of you complaining about gas prices. Biden also hold a 40 year record on grocery prices in 2022........So, comparing to the previous 4 years, I'd say things are pretty good......

Gas is $2.99 a gallon. Groceries have gone up not down. Fast food restaurant prices are higher. People are calling for a boycott against McDonald’s. Store off brand grocery items are higher. Dollar tree is now $1.50 for items that use to cost a dollar. Nah I don’t think it’s pretty good. thanks again for promise kept. Not!

Russia is—and has always been—a paper tiger. If people really knew what the U.S. has in their arsenal, they would not believe it. To this day, the U.S. can track any Soviet sub anywhere/any time & them never even know we’re there. But yes…I agree with your last.

I will throw my thoughts here just because… I honestly think Trump—for all his faults—is not a warmonger & doesn't want military conflict. In this, I think he’s somewhat similar to my old CIC (R. Reagan). If he can get a reset with Iran, now is the time, and he’s the person in the moment. He has the benefit of not needing oil from the Middle East as the U.S. currently produces over 2X what the next largest producing country does (Saudi Arabia), and almost as much as the rest of the world’s producers combined. The U.S. is also the largest producer of natural gas. We aren’t at the whims of oil prices due to ME conflicts like we used to be. I believe I also recently read where the U.S. still has the largest strategic stockpile of oil in the world (somewhere around 265MM barrels) as a buffer. The people of Iran need to make a change if they choose. Otherwise, it’ll be the same spiral. Good news is, the other ME countries are more supportive than in the past. This could actually work.

President Trump blasted former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Monday over remarks suggesting Iran’s allies could supply it with nuclear warheads as Tehran promises to retaliate for U.S. strikes on its nuclear facilities. I hope we haven’t put ourselves in a awkward position.

Can’t speak to Smurfitt, or IP as much. Did a few projects for Smurfitt back in the day, but don’t know their business that well. The paper business is very low margin. IP sold a big chunk of their business years ago to Weyerhaeuser. Not near the player they used to be. Kimberly Clark has overtaken them I believe. Weyerhaeuser is huge. A lot of consolidation in the paper mill business.

I respect your insight... is the author wrong on all 3?

JCPOA provisions expired this year, and Iran wasn’t abiding by the stipulations even before Trump cancelled it. The Europeans and UN are/were just spineless & even complicit. Not saying the U.S. is totally clean. Our government has been meddling in Iran since ‘53. Heck, we even helped them start their initial nuclear program. (Eisenhower & Atoms for Peace in ‘57.) Many missteps. This latest strike wasn’t one of them. It may—I emphasize ‘may’—help start a clean slate. The date of the below link is interesting. [Hidden Content]

Lyondell Basell Houston has been basically shut down for almost a decade. They’ve had major expansions at newer polymer/petrochem facilities in La Porte & Chocolate Bayou. This facility was only kept running for as long as it was for feedstock for their primary businesses. They tried to sell for years. But, no one saw feasibility in trying to retrofit/modernize. Plus, the regulations imposed by Harris County & the Feds made refinery operations almost unbearable. Technically, the facility was located in Houston. The progessives in charge locally made their operation a living hell. Very similar to California. This had absolutely nothing to do with tariffs & shows the author’s ignorance of the subject.

Dallas Carter will be Div. I along with Dallas Kimball. Both were Div. I last year. Those two will have to play each other in district and most likely regional final like they did last year. Kimball beat Carter in regional final 68-35. Kimball returns 3 starters and 10 reserves from their state championship team. A team that didn't experience a close game throughout the playoffs. Won championship game over Houston Washington 71-48. I'll put my money on Kimball over Carter. Silsbee will be DII so even if they were to make it that far, they would not see either of these teams.

I" heard Arline had a great showing this week putting up 15 in all 3 games.. Lance is 6'7 and growing he is getting better he will be a big difference come district. But with this years 8th grade team comein up this year with the 8th graders that will be freshman next year Silsbee will be something hard to handle. lol.. Silsbee will have some up's and downs this year. Still going to be good but from what I" saw Dallas Carter will be the team most likely to get the rings this year.. This is the best Carter team I've seen since we played them back in 18" and I" would say this young Carter team is better.

I welcome your reasons! What ya thinking?

This I can agree with…..but my reasons may be different than yours.

Anyone having sympathy for Israel anf not holding Conald and others accountable for this is hypocrites! Should've never got rid of JCPOA without another deal on the table! But but but the D's funded this, yet they waited til we had a "strong" president to attack lol.. defend by all means Fast forward to yesterday and the clown in chief says along with his lost looking VP, a complete ceasefire would be in effect in 6 hours. Then Iran hits again and Israel is ready to retaliate.... so much peace in the middle east My biggest take away is you have ppl and even on this board that if you dont agree with something or speak outta disagreement with the clown your un-American, want the country to fail etc. We have no business butting in that conflict. Tulsi says no threat of nukes and others say a threat. Which is it? This changes how? This will be an ongoing issue til all of is are dead. Smdh
